Why has this add-on become completely useless within YouTube?

no indication of progress, almost nothing works without the companion program, and worst of all its just a pain in the butt to actually use. honestly just get any other video downloader and a converter because at least then you can see progress!

There was one particular video that I have been attempting to download for ages, but none of the various different solutions and products that I tried would work.

But I finally managed to get the video today when I tried Video DownloadHelper (although I did have to also install the Windows co-App because the Browser method failed).

The extension is simple to use and it has very clearly-worded messages that make it easy to understand what's going on and why. It's also unobtrusive and nicely designed (not ugly like so many other extensions) as well as having a useful set of configuration options.

This is a very handy tool to keep in reserve.

Very good video aid, this is the best aid I have ever used.

Why would anyone pay for this add-on to remove the "watermark" QR code, when you can just use open source software (youtube-dl) to download videos for free?
