Simply put this downloader does not work. YouTube has declared war on this and other downloaders and none of them appear to be working these days. If the developer isn't going to fix it then remove it...

This was my main downloader for years. Now it's outdated abandonedware. The owners should hand it over to someone who can fix it and update it.

Since YouTube decided to make even more money in spring 2025, and therefore pulled the strings in their content delivery system very tight, this tool doesn't work anymore.
It would need an update to again become one of the best YouTube downloaders out there, because that's what it was. Also it was one of the most versatile tools.

Once it got 5 stars from me using a different account, currently only one star because you can't vote zero stars.
I would like to see this tool resurrected, but for the time being I'll use Videomass.

use "Downr YouTube Downloader" instead. Search for it in addon store.

Hasn't worked in ages.

Has been a really great addon for a long time until it stopped working for me three years ago.
So I did let it live in my firefox out of hope that someday there may be an update which would get it working again.

But I think after three years of waiting in vain, it's safe to pronounce this add-on dead, uninstall it and look for alternatives.

So long, and thanks for all the videos, but I guess it's time to move on.

I was shocked to see that this was still installed. No buttons have shown up for years. It's a totally broken mess that i'm, about to remove.
