par grungus33, il y a 5 moisi love the concept, the ui is great, and im glad it syncs to a community list, but when i put a channel in my block/warnlists, it just puts a random channel in there instead.
tried to block an ai "musician", it blocked a tf2 youtuber. tried to block an ai-focused channel, it blocked a (legit) music channel.

Would be great if you would file a bug report with more details on either GitHub or on our discord server.
I'm sorry to see that you only consider the extension worth a 2-star rating.

- Noté 5 sur 5par CyberAqyn, il y a 4 heuresFinally, I don't see that AI junk in recommended. It slows opening of Youtube, but it worth it.
- Noté 5 sur 5par jjj_mmm, il y a 2 joursBest AI blocker I've found so far, if there's anything better for the purpose I'd love to know about it.
I've seen a few reviews complain that the code looks AI-written or the website looks AI-generated and I want to come to the defense of the plugin authors. I do not object to using AI for programming and writing code, where the intent is to create a functional tool. The kind of AI that I want to block with a tool like this -- YouTube content farms, fake influencers lodged in the uncanny valley, etcetera -- that's what I object to. So let's stay focused on the purpose here, there's nothing ironic about it. - Noté 1 sur 5par Rush737467, il y a 3 joursTheir website is clearly AI, a little ironic. The actual code also seems to be generated by AI, or at least with AI assistance. If you go to their github you can see some comments reminiscent of AI code.
- Noté 3 sur 5par Ev1M4chine, il y a 3 joursVery useful … as a general blocker. And only as that.
But zero protection against malicious actors.
Anyone can anonymously/pseudonymously report anyone as “AI” for censorship or competitive purposes, or request list removal (but possibly fail to get it even if not AI).
And the only decision factor is basically the gut feeling of a human with no noted education in psychology of manipulation, the scientific method (and scientific philosophy behind it) or formal logic.
(People always assume that because they are trustworthy to themselves, everyone should trust them. And that they are not prone to manipulation and know better. But in reality, those are in fact the easiest targets to manipulate.)
[Devs: I’ll change this if I can verify that it is wrong. But I’m a professional in that exact field, so I require something proper. Interpreting this as being personal, is not it. :]]
The add-on’s whole world will collapse and it will either fall under authoritarian rule or dissolve in the chaos of anarchy, as soon as it gets popular. But that is very likely true for all other similar add-ons, and in fact any crowd-sourced service ever. They all don’t manage even the first concepts of how to approach solving this.
But hey… A nice channel blocker! :) - Noté 1 sur 5par garyyo, il y a 3 joursClaims to be open source, but has not updated the corresponding repo in 11 month as of writing. Repo currently contains 0 code, but the block list is in a github repository too which is constantly updated (which makes no sense from a design standpoint, you don't store that kind of stuff in a repo) so you know that the author knows how to use it and it isn't *just* incompetence.
Author, why are you hiding the code? You know that anyone can just paste "about:support" in the address bar, open the Profile Folder, navigate to the extensions subfolder, and then open "ai-channel-blocker@aiblock.extension.xpi" in 7zip to find your unobfuscated code. Its all there plain to see, just put it in the Github repo. What are you trying to hide, that there are signs of AI usage to write the code in the first place (among other things mixed comment styles among all the files including in sync.js where you have a suspicious TODO line to "replace with your actual GitHub repository URL", who is "your" talking to here, the chatbot to you)? That you are using github to store content instead of loading it from a more proper place? That this is all just hastily thrown together? none of that matters, just throw the code up on github, its already accessible. - Noté 3 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 19544583 de Firefox, il y a 13 joursI had to remove this since two imagine dragon and one stone temple pilots tracks on my like list were marked as AI. these are official releases 8 years old. Then at the same time there's still tons of ai generated videos from content mills making it into my feed. Also I don't care about creators using ai as a tool within reason, i just don't like content mills that use ai for everything.

- Noté 5 sur 5par JonLeFey, il y a un moisReal human review here. I am incredibly thankful for this extension. I think it should be in anyone's standard toolkit for combating ai. I downloaded this extension for one reason -- and that is to remove the stupid ass AI functions that inundate my browser experience. Those stupid buttons with the AI star on my pages are now gone. I just downloaded this extension so I have yet to see if anything is bugged but for simply removing that ASK AI button off my browsers and even Youtube, I give this app a 5 star... Will edit the extension as time goes on.
- Noté 1 sur 5par Hokus Pokus, il y a 2 moisI love the idea of this and hoped someone would create it, but i have massive reservations.
1. The website is AI generated... ironically
2. The Extension is not OpenSource, yet someone advertising this Extension on reddit and claiming to be the developer has promised to make it open source 7 months ago.
3. The development workflow seems unstructured; bugs are reported on multiple platforms, (mostly discord, sometimes reddit) even though the core functionality of this extension (reporting ai-content) is primarily done and managed through github, somehow. - Noté 4 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 20039921 de Firefox, il y a 2 moisIs any use made of the 'flags' and Description Text which Firefox shows to indicate that a video is wholly or partly AI-generated?
If these were inspected at viewing-time, then surely there would be less of a need to maintain a List of AI channels.Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 2 moisYes. The extension is presenting a small banner that offers submission of the channel.

- Noté 4 sur 5par MaxShokin, il y a 2 moisHi, all the respect for the project, but Block Mode "Hide Completely" does not work for me. Warning overlay is still being shown for AI vids. Hope this gets corrected. Will change my review to five stars. Right now will keep addon disabled, as for me personally the overlay is almost as annoying as the AI slop itself, other than that no issues.

- Noté 5 sur 5par Ringo McGoogle, il y a 5 mois5-Star rated by me immediately after installing, I first heard about AiBlock only fifteen minutes ago (tipped to it by James Corbett, The Corbett Report on Bitchute) and realised this neat extension is as crucial a pollution filter as AdBlock has become. Indispensable at once. Let's Thank Developers for this nifty little add-on!

- Noté 5 sur 5par Evelyn89, il y a 6 moisI think it might be useful to add categories. But as a whole I love this and it is absolutely a essential extension to me from now on.
