Youtube is a great site. Great videos, youtubers and communities. You can spend hours on that site, I know I have. But there comes a point where you really don't want to waste your time anymore, you find yourself clicking through video after video, with no purpose.

That is where this extension comes in. It hides the videos you don't want to see. Most of the videos in youtube are relevant to you, but sometimes the algorithm is totally wrong and it's just annoying to see unrelated videos in the sidebar and at the end of the video. I've had that too. Now I just don't want to deal with it anymore.

I've had another similar extension, simply called remove youtube suggestions, but it hasn't been updated in half a year and its reliability is decreasing. This looks like the perfect replacement!

Now, this extension says that it's licensed under the Mozilla Public License version 2 and I'm wondering, where's the source code/ github page? While I do trust this extension, having the source code visible somewhere is just an extra layer of trust as well as security (free software). I looked at the Chrome web store for this extension and I couldn't find anything there either.

Also, the videos are visible for a split second before disappearing, but that's minor (same problem as with the old extension, just that sometimes it wouldn't work at all)

    Worked great uptill now, it has been bricked. whenever the addon is turned on youtube flags it as an adblocker and doesn't show the video entirely

    Can't find any other feedback button, so I guess I'll write here? Awesome extension, saved me many frustrations. Recently YouTube started misidentifying it as an adblock and preventing me from watching videos when the extension is enabled. Hope this can be fixed!

    Loved this extension, but I'm unable to use it due to it triggering youtube's anti ad block :((

    I have been using DF-Tube for years and it's an essential part of my browser now. But lately because of Youtube's actions against ad-blockers, having DF-Tube enabled is causing it to be considered an ad-blocker, and thus Youtube becomes unoperational. If this issue could be addressed it'd be extremely helpful.

    sadly need to confirm that this addon triggers YTs adblock detection, but still did a great job at making YT distraction free o7

    !!! Warning !!!
    Installing this extension trigger youtube's anti-adblock detection. (other wise does what it claims)
    I recommend unhook which have the same functionality but does not trigger anti-adblock

    Hi RickyV, I love this app, can you make the same for facebook, instagram, and reddit? Just to block the newsfeed for starters because that is the addiction mechanism for these platforms. If you can package them in 1 add-on, better! I can't find a way to contact you directly, hopefully you get to read this message.

    Thank you for saving my brain from compulsive internet browsing, breaking the habit of mindless scrolling, and getting distracted on YT.
    This extension genuinely gave me back hours of my life and helped me break years of bad internet habits. Thank you for making something that respects the human brain instead of exploiting it. You’re a hero. 🙌

    Been making me sane on Youtube for years. I just toggle the Activate after turning on a video since it does trigger the Ad-Block BS of Youtube

    But otherwise it makes my life and brain Sane while on Youtube so keeping 5 Star Rating

    It's currently not working because it's detected by youtube as if it were an adblocker, despite the fact that it did work this afternoon. I hope it will get fixed as soon as possible.

    edit 20/7/2025: it seems the problem is fixed now. It's a great addon, so useful to cut off distraction.

    As two other users mentioned, DF YouTube triggers Ad Block detection by YouTube algorithm. A pity, hoping it will get fixed

    I can confirm that, unfortunately, this extension just recently started triggering YouTube anti-adblocker banner. Until it is fixed I'm forced to disable this extension and rate it at 1 star. Looking forward for the fix because I've been enjoying this extension for many years!

    used to work flawlessly, but suddenly started getting blocked by youtube. i figured it wasn't ublock, so i disabled all extensions except for this one, and i confirmed that this was the source of the problem. a true shame because i loved this extension
