par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 11640498 de Firefox, il y a 8 ansFEEDBRO is a hell of thousand tracking cookies invading privacy. Nowadays this is also a dangerous cybersecurity problem.
I tested FEEDBRO by blocking all cookies in FF. And all my feeds worked perfect at FEEDBRO. No cookies at all.
But the problem is that I need cookies enabled at FF.
So, if FEEDBRO works with cookies blocked, why FEEDBRO doesn't block cookies by it self?
In fact, in the option or settings page, FEEDBRO can block scripts, objects, applet, iframe, embed... but not cookies! Why is that?
FEEDBRO needs a simple option to load articles as text-only, or a simple option for blocking cookies. This will improve resources, and will solve privacy and security risks.
* Cookie add-ons are not working over cookies of other add-ons. Cookie AutoDelete doesn't work on FEEDBRO. I tested other different cookie addon-s and all of them don't recognize FEEDBRO as a "tab" or "window". The best scenario with these cookie add-ons is deleting cookies when FF closes, but dangerous FEEDBRO cookies might live hours and days. UMatrix is the only add-on deleting localstorage before FF closes, but is ridiculous to install 2MiB only because of FEEDBRO.
* I have more than 200 feeds, so is impossible to white-list cookies. Also, FF built-in cookies manager doesn't allow to import/export or synchronized blocked/unblocked cookies. No one is going to expend days doing this inefficient task.
** I am raising my stars qualification considering author' predisposition to: a) Solve problems b) Attend user requests c) Quick answers. Thank you.
** 2MiB is not a matter of size in the HD, but it is a huge matter of browser system resources. And in principle, isn't right to force the use of other add-ons in order to use FEEDBRO.
FEEDBRO perfectly can work without cookies. And not approved cookies are a big privacy and security issue. So, a simple option loading articles as text-only is the perfect solution. Thank you.

mis en ligne : il y a 8 ansWe created an improved Cookie Manager called Cookiebro which can automatically and periodically drop unwanted cookies (also cookies that originate from WebExtension HTTP(S) requests). https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/cookiebro/
It is also possible to integrate cookie filtering to Feedbro but then it will be "all or nothing" without any whitelist/blacklist type functionality. We'll most likely add that possibility + image filtering option in the following releases.

- Noté 1 sur 5par Gormadt, il y a 2 moisIt would have remained a 5 for me but YouTube feeds now only give me the "Error 153" popup whenever I try to watch a video. This has persisted for MONTHS now and there hasn't been a fix yet.
I've also noticed that the add-on was last updated 3/24/2024 (over 2 years ago at time of review) so I'm presuming this add-on is now dead in the water, which is a shame. - Noté 3 sur 5par strok3, il y a 3 moisLack of backup/sync option make migration to another profile/fresh install a total pita, besides loosing all your bookmarked articles. No sync with other services.

- Noté 3 sur 5par ella, il y a 4 moisI LOVE this addon but it needs more themes for modern aesthetics. You get black, white, dark blue, or dark brown? I would love more variety. Grays, beige, or pastels (like a like blue or light green). Or color across the top + white on the bottom.

- Noté 5 sur 5par pnhan, il y a 5 moisThere are few utilities as comprehensive as this one, supporting so many news feeds, so many viewing modes, but it's free!!
There have been some recent changes related to Youtube embedded links, and I wonder if it is possible to write plugins for this addon (if it supports API) to get better feeds from Facebook groups or personal pages (instead of "scraping" public data like currently, very limited in content and rate limited).
Looking forward to receiving updates and feedback from the developer soon!!
A great utility that I have already recommended to my friends! - Noté 3 sur 5par Celtice, il y a 5 moisIt's a really great tool when set-up works out and the feeds continue to update. I've had problems though, like an error 398 with a couple feeds on the same website, and I can't figure out what it means---I have no clue if it's an issue with the website or the extension. Regardless, RSS feeds might be a "dying breed", but like the radio, it's an integral tool to preserve, and I enjoy being able to check the websites/blogs/social media pages that I care about, with fewer distractions and bouncing between sites.
- Noté 1 sur 5par fridakozari, il y a 5 moisOn Firefox 146.0.1 for Ubuntu number of all and unread articles are not updated when new articles are fetched. It seems that data for earlier fetched articles is somehow overwritten, items are disappearing.
I've also tweaked the available settings - no help.
I'd join the earlier reviews that maintenance of this addon is lagging behind.
I like the idea to handle my RSS feeds in my web browser, I also like the looks and features of this addon, but now I am switching to another solution. - Noté 3 sur 5par binomialtie7087, il y a 6 moisGood simple rss/atom feed reader. it works as a browser extension so doesn't require logging in to some server hosted platform that trys to push you to pay for a better version of itself, whilst also not being a complex hard to understand self-hosted thingy. decent amount of customisability with 4 colour themes and several layouts. unfortunately it doesn't allow for subfolders, but ive managed around that. also recently embedded youtube videos no longer work which suucks, brings my review down from what probably wouldve been a four or five to three!
