Very good, I hope the addon will support Cantonese tone numbers rather than accents.

It might be related to your Firefox settings or it might conflict with other addons. Try turning off some other addons and see if it works after that. If not, open an issue here with a full description of your problem: https://github.com/JorisKok/chinese-firefox-quantum/issues

Pretty good, but could use a (custom-assigned) keyboard shortcut to turn it on and off

I've added this feature. Hope you like it. It works by pressing the keys in order. Hope it is sufficient.
