Tariffed Ad Filter collects nothing.
Nothing is sent anywhere. The add-on makes no request to any server while it runs. It does read the pages you visit, because reading them is how it finds the ads, but what it reads stays in your browser.
The brand list ships inside the add-on and is read from a file in the package. That is the only file it reads, and the read never leaves your browser.
The one permission it asks for is storage. That holds your three settings and the brands you have chosen to allow. Both stay on your own computer.
So the popup can show its work, the add-on also keeps a short list for the tab you are looking at: each brand it hid, why, and the name of the site. That list is held in session storage, stays in your browser, and is dropped when you close it. Nothing is sent anywhere.
No account and no identifier is kept, and there is no analytics and no telemetry of any kind.
The report link on a hidden ad opens your own mail program with the brand and the site name already in the subject, so you can read it before you send it.
If you write to hello@tariffed.ca, your email address is used to answer you and for nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list and it is not given to anyone. Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act you may ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. We answer within thirty days.
