Problem:
at first it works wonderfully, i recently have a problem of how it changes my theme when i turn off/on (from my dark theme to grey(on) to white (off) which is VERY annoying! also it now for some reason keeps changing themes automatically on site ive been before which is also annoying. the problem accured when i was adjusting contrast/grayscale/sephia on a novel site as the default site color was light brown and darkreader changed it redish grey after i did that when i changed sites it followed which annoyed me and i turned them all off, then it keeps changing dark modes auomatically and changes my firefox theme. please fix this ASAP!

Experience before problem:
other than that issues its dark mode is solid, doesnt add black box on website logo when im reading. 5/5

Suggestions: i dont know if it was like that in the past or it is supposed to automatically change darkmode but a button for turning on darkmode for the site instead of doing it automatically/reverse button would be very much appreciated.

    Works on most sites, though there's currently a memory leak issue when using it on Reddit. Memory usage climbs to 6GB+ for a single tab. I'll update my rating if it's ever fixed.

    From my experience of using the extension, the add-on seems to be unsatisfactory at best, and unusable at worst. For instance, basically every site that I visited had the logo at the lop-left corner of the screen blend in with the background in terms of color. It will also sometimes just not work as expected, and by sometimes I mean almost all of the sites that I visit. Even the site on which I'm writing this review (addons(dot)mozilla(dot)org/) is in white mode while running the extension. You should really fix your utility before asking users to donate $10 (which happens immediately, mind you).

    latest May 7 version makes reddit totally unusable, crashing the site

    With the latest Firefox update (version 150.0.2, May 7, 2026), this extension causes slow-down in the Reddit website, and only there. Screen updates lag or become unresponsive for long durations on the Reddit site. Firefox then shows a notification bar right below the address bar saying Dark Reader is causing the slowdown. Please fix if you can.

    Works pretty well, but they broke something with the most recent update, and it's causing a huge memory leak. I had to go back to 4.9.124

    Used to be great, but more and more it'll make some sites like run 10-30x slower until they crash your browser tab. (Tested and confirmed it was this extension)

    One of the OG addons have to be removed finally. Loved this addon for years but its at the point now it is very noticeably slowing down my pages. Sometimes to the point of freezing the entire browser.

    IMO the addon needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

    Great full featured Dark Mode add-on that has been steadily improving over the years. It's not perfect, but it's very close and much better than other add-ons. The only thing better than this add-on is for the webpage itself to have a dedicated dark mode. But for the rest of the internet, this add-on is pretty solid.
