I just love this extension. It gives me the choice to hide the homepage, video recommendations, comments, and so on. It can even hide the notifications bell icon on top.

The homepage is a huge distraction. I have set it to redirect to the subscriptions tab, so whenever I open YouTube.com, it redirects to the subscriptions tab, which is all I need and If I want to watch something specific, I can search for it. This extension gives you all the control to choose. I highly recommend this extension.
