Better Roo is a free, open-source browser extension. This policy explains what data is involved when you use it.

What we collect
Nothing. Better Roo has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no telemetry. We do not collect, store, or transmit any information about you or your usage.

What stays on your device
Better Roo stores the following locally in your browser — it never leaves your device:

• Restaurant names, addresses, delivery times, and ratings read from Deliveroo listing and menu pages
• FSA hygiene ratings fetched from the UK Food Standards Agency
• Your filter preferences, view preferences, and pinned restaurants

This data is stored in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB. You can delete it at any time using the Clear all cached data button in the extension menu.

External requests
Better Roo makes two types of external requests:

1. Deliveroo — the extension reads data from Deliveroo pages you visit as part of normal browsing. It does not make any additional requests to Deliveroo beyond what your browser already does.
2. UK Food Standards Agency API (api.ratings.food.gov.uk) — when you open a restaurant's menu, or when auto-scan is enabled, the extension queries the FSA's public API to retrieve hygiene ratings. The request includes the restaurant's name and postcode (obtained from the Deliveroo page). The FSA API is a public government service.

No other external requests are made.

Third parties
Better Roo does not share any data with any third party, because it has no data to share.

Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published in the repository alongside the extension source code.
