They changed it today to a fully paid service even for the basic tasks. Can not recommend. Just bait.

Now, users with limited financial means are being intentionally excluded—and this is happening at a company that receives public funding, which makes me seriously question its eligibility for such funding.

The add-on used to be very good, but due to a decision that was made, it’s barely worth 1 star anymore.
It’s a shame that there are companies that intentionally exclude people.

Drop AI and the server costs will instantly become more manageable, I imagine.
To be clear, I'm not against a developer charging for their product - I am against developers jumping on a fad bandwagon and then crying about it. You're running a SPELLCHECKER, guys, you don’t need AI to run a dictionary search.
But now we can have "AI POWERED PARAPHRASING" How, oh how did the product even operate before the blessing of AI???
I just cannot treat this seriously, sorry, Word processor had this running smoothly 15 years ago, catch up!

Have loved using this app for a few years now. Now, out of nowhere, it's added Ai and now is behind a paywall. Go F yourself.

Pulled the usual bait-and-switch requiring payment for it to work it all. Uninstalling.

Really helps when communicating in a language that you're not 100% fluent.

The premium is expensive, but then it's not just a web browser extension; you can use it in countless apps, so for me it was a good deal at the time. I bought the 2 year one for around 80€.

This addon worked great until the premium tier became required. I don't need an AI spelling checker.

Sorry - this is the badest move you can make. Telling AI ist ramping up the costs ist really a bad one and -in two- really not true. There are a lot of good examples out there how it's done. Without harming privacy anyways. And the pricetag is much to high. As a user of the premium subscription this makes me cancel that subscription anyway, because I was in belive supporting all the free (Plug-In)-Users with the high pricetag to the desktop version.
