trying to export all my groups from sync tab groups hangs up firefox
it seems like it tries to open all tab in all groups which is just crazy and brings down firefox to crawl which is duh it's like over 2 thousand tabs sync tab groups must work in other way because I never had problem importing that many groups and tabs

and my system is not weak Ryzen 7 3700X and 16GB of RAM with Firefox running on ssd

I had quite some tab groups, but they were suddenly empty, so better keep your bookmarks organized.

Unfortunately, some of the groups you create randomly lose all tabs. In the next session, only the empty groups will be there. Thus, the extension is unfortunately almost meaningless, too bad. Apart from this, the idea of the extension is great - if it would work though...

This add-on is now completely broken. Tabs opened in or moved to a specific group will show up in all groups, obviating any benefit this add-on might create. Unless this is fixed, the add-on cannot be used anymore. It's probably time for Mozilla to develop a proper tab group replacement for modern FF.

This is a sad joke:
- it doesn't work if 'Restore previous session' is disabled,
- it doesn't work in private mode.

As it is it's a waste of bits.

Been using this for a while and it's pretty nice. Recent update said to set the add-on to not work in incognito mode. Fair enough. I changed the setting. All my open tabs were lost immediately. My browser was reverted to the state it was in ~1 month ago. I can't even recover them with recently closed tab or recently closed window. For an extension that's supposed to enable my tab-hoarding, this is a low blow.

i finally understand the problem. please fix this.

1. "default Tab Groups" is always open
2. i open "work Tab Groups" that have 10 tabs in new window
3. i reload and check 3 of "work Tab Groups" and don't check the others
4. and i close the "work Tab Groups" window
5. when i open "work Tab Groups" window again, only the 3 tab that i checked last time, have links. the other 7 tabs, are null and when i click on them, it opens a blank page!

Did just delete all of my open tabs without any warning after working fine for a year

This addon has always worked fantastically, and I was really happy with it until the last update (ver. 4.0.0.2) that f*cked everything up.
I DON'T want to restore the previous session automatically every time I start Firefox!!! and I don't want to see the same screen warning me to do so every time I open the browser.
PLEASE REVERT TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION. thank you

When TG was updated automatically to V4.0.0.2 I got the message -
"No support incognito mode, please disable incognito mode for add-on"

I checked the TG add-on option "Don't Allow" for "Run in Private Windows" and restarted FF.

I then got the following page -
"Welcome to Simple Tab Groups v4
Please enable "Restore previous session" in browser settings:"

I checked the box "Restore previous session".

I also noticed that all my tabs disappeared from every tab group. I restored them using a backup and restarted FF.

I again got the following page -

"Welcome to Simple Tab Groups v4
Please enable "Restore previous session" in browser settings:"

even though the "Restore previous session" was already checked.

Every time FF v68.0 starts up, the

"Welcome to Simple Tab Groups v4
Please enable "Restore previous session" in browser settings:"

page is displayed even though the "Restore previous session" box is checked.

I reverted back to v.3.4.4. I have also turned off "automatic update". This is not a good rollout.

Overly complicated! When I open a tab group, and then close one of the tabs, that tab is PERMANENTLY removed from the group! WTF? If I wanted to remove it from the group I would have said so! I JUST wanted to close it!

The groups change automatically as you open and close tabs. That's not very useful.

Very good plugin, but today it appeared "unknownError unrelated to the database" error, and all hidden tabs pop up to my browser, and the plugin keeping no work.

I only tried this briefly before I removed the extension. First, it would not recognize my pinned tabs so I had to un-pin tabs to add them to groups. Then it crashed my browser twice.

Just tried it again and lost all my tabs after an hour!

Edit after 3 years: tried it again. Result is the same. Though I have backup now

Many faults in loading groups
It opens the same tabs 3 or 4 times when loading. Much trouble...

I have just upgrade to the latest version of this addon.
Is there a way to switch off the hidden tabs feature? I want to see my tabs across the top as in the previous
versions please?
I have multiple tab groups for different tasks
and each group has multiple tabs open
I like this separation of tabs into tasks groups.

I don't want to disable the addon, I want to use the addon but not have the tabs hidden.
Is there a way I as a user can turn on/turn off this hidden tabs feature?

IF I disable teh addon then all my tabs are unhidden but put into one tab group
I don't want this, I want separate tab groups with my tabs visible in each tab group as in previous versions
This must be possible and I just don't know how to set, please tell me how.

The interface, like many WebUI extensions, is pretty horrible. Notifications are extremely slow and take a long time to disappear. It’s almost impossible to move tabs from one group to another with accidentally loading the group. Similarly the group list has two sides: the left side will load the group; the right side will load a tab list of the group. This is not very clear as this behaviour isn’t normal for a drop-down menu.

Loading a group with a large number of tabs (despite the option to only load active tabs) will try to load ALL TABS, potentially freezing your computer. Firefox itself does not do this when loading tabs, so it’s a mystery why this extension does.

Finally the Manage Groups page shows nothing, so no managing is possible.
