A must-have for power users!

Poor compared to Tab Groups but better than anything available yet in Quantum disaster and makes it barely usable.

It let me upgrade to Quantum. Without extention like old Tab Groups i would switch to Chrome.

This extension has finally allowed me to upgrade to Firefox Quantum. I had Tab Groups extension installed which was not supported on new Firefox at that time and didn't want to make a move without that or similar extension. Simple Tab Groups are just what I needed. Allows to group tabs, to switch groups, doesn't load all tabs in group but only active one (saves RAM).

To all unsatisfied reviewers:
* Tabs loss is not due to this extension, this is an acknowledged Firefox bug. The extension author has shown it happens even without his extension. It is registered in Firefox bug tracker. The best you can do for now is to check that the extension is tracking your tabs (colored triangle on extension icon), back up tab groups before closing Firefox, and hope that either extension author finds a workaround, or this bug is fixed in Firefox itself.
* Adding moz:extension scheme to url is the way to avoid tabs reloading when switching groups. If you disable Fast Group Switching, you'll disable url mangling, but you'll notice that all tabs are loaded at once. This, again, is a limitation of Web Extensions API in new Firefox, which doesn't allow to hide a tab, only to close it. And when you switch groups, you'll need to reopen them. I've heard that tab hiding has finally been added to Web Extensions API. Let's hope it's true, and wait for new version of Firefox which supports tab hiding.

Sad to see undeserved bad ratings.

After switching to and from another group for the first time, it crashed while trying to load every single one of the many tabs I had open, despite enabling fast group switching. After shutting down and reloading Firefox, it had somehow managed to reverse the order of all my tabs, and added a long url to each of them that prevented them from loading. In order to uninstall it, I needed to disable fast group switching, which caused another crash. After reloading again, it had somehow turned all of my tabs into a copy of one tab, while simultaneously trying to load every single one of them at once. Eventually I was able to disable this addon, but not before it had destroyed any trace of my tabs.

So the Fast-Switching option uses a poorly-rigged workaround that alters the urls of your tabs, making them unable to load without this addon. And it very clearly DOES. NOT. WORK. Firefox itself starts fine with that many tabs, without trying to load every single one of them.

This addon left me worse than before I tried it. I would have found a way to back up my session, if I had anticipated that an addon could be this poorly made.

Almost as good as the old Panorama feature.

Some rough edges, but it's getting there.

Very good! Some features still missing, but hopefully they will be soon added:
- resize groups in the global view (manage groups)
- allow user to choose to open the "Manage" view when clicking on the icon (as it was the case with former "Group Tabs" extension for FF<57)
- do not close tabs when change group (it seems, according to what I've read so far, that this is a limitation due to Firefox... yeah, this is improvement... but no problem, proprietary 3rd party tools like Pocket are embedded...)

Regex filters are VERY appreciated! Keep your groups clean and make sure your github tabs are always with their scrutinizer-ci friend :)

EDIT (2019-01-16) : I've FINALLY updated Firefox (had to update Fedora 26 -> 29) and I must say that it's very nice when using this (not so) new hidden tabs API. Thanks a lot for the great job !
However, I'm still waiting for free arrangement (hopefully with group resize in the "Manage" view) and the possibility to directly open the "Manage" view when clicking on the icon => then, I'll give the fifth star!

Almost nice replacement for old tab groups addon. But with numerous bugs and lesser functionality.

Idea is alright, but the implementation is too buggy:
- stops working with 'type error' messages
- searching tabs doesn't work properly
- tabgroup management seems flaky

I know it is probably just growing pains, but please focus on the basics first.

При открытии браузера забывает в какой группе я нахожусь, в итоге получается иногда что вообще без группы и мои вкладки не сохраняются. Сильно раздражает что при переключении группы вкладки все время загружаются заново, несмотря на то что ранее в этой сессии они уже были загружены. В остальном норм, Спасибо!

i need help. i removed this complement but it left me with a sea of dead tabs (my old tabs) the only way that can work now is if i have this complement installed >:(

I don't like a misclick causing me to loose almost all of my tabs. This still isn't suitable for common use.

All of my saved groups are gone after a crash of Firefox.
Pinned tabs are missing when restored from backup.

Wonderful add-on!
- It would be awesome if you could add a auto-back option to the add-on, with time and idleness options.
- Also i recently ekspirenced a bug, where the tab group i was inn got "de-registered" so that the "group" i was inn had no color. And i got the a warning message, that if i switched to another group, all the taps in my current session/de-registered group would be lost.
It seems that it got duplicated, because all the tabs in the de-registered group where present in a registered group.

Thank you to the guys working on this, rating is for digging deeper in Ticket #70 - random loss of tabs.

Just opened Firefox to find all 70+ of my tabs (in another closed/inactive group) vanished. And *yeeeeessss*, I have set preferences to "show windows and tabs from last time", as I'm sure have most complaining of the same issue here.

Ergo, worse than useless. Uninstalled in disgust, annoyance, and disappointment.

Back to the drawing board...

Feature wise, there's everything I need and it is evolving rapidly.

Unfortunately, I experience some bugs which make it a bit too unreliable atm :
- Sometime some "random" tabs groups are created (not by me). They did not come from new windows.
- When I switch from one group to another, some tabs switch to the new group (not all of them... just a few).
- Some tabs can't be moved to another group (with an error message explaining the operation is impossible)
- When switching to another group, sometime I get an error message warning that the current tabs will be closed. Don't know why but very annoying.

I can't confirm a 100%, but it seems these problems concern only tabs with URLs on my localhost or with local HTML files.
I should make more tests to confirm though.

Been testing it for some weeks now...
Randomly browser opens with no group. Randomly tabs appear empty or do not load. I had to manually save all as bookmarks like we did many years ago...
Tested in several PC's and same issues...

Very, very unrealiable at this time to say the least.

Using v 2.3.6 All OS are Win10 1709.

Very often i lost some of my Stored Tabs by restarting the browser. I only got "New Tab" without URl ...
Sometimes ALL Tabs were lost after closing Firefox ... Very frustrating ...

So far so good. God I've missed this functionality. Please keep up the good work.
