Well after reading many reviews, which I strongly urge YOU to do before touching this, I went against my better judgement and thought Id install it and just give it a test run whilst making sure to back up anything I relied on OneTab to handle for me. So I am one of those guys who has anything from 101 tabs to 550 tabs open pretty much all of the time! Yes I know it seems dumb, hogs memory, slows firefox down, drains the system RAM over time...etc, etc, etc but thats what I do because I am a bit scatty and I so often am not finished with reading or going down that particular thought train and really want to continue with it at some point. And so I leave another tab open, planning to revisit. I do admit that my current tab count of 514 is a bit over stupid and I will be culling that number after I submit this review.
So what was my experience? It was not great I can tell you. It resembled what I had read about in manymreviews. In a nutshell: OneTab saved hundreds of tabs as advertised and then when restoring....well, it just didnt! it was as if I had asked it to restore a selection of random links out of the list of over 300 it had made. As if I'd asked it to randomly pick ANY of the links and restore them but only restore less than 50 , one time it reached towards 100 so I was becoming happier hehe. But not happy.
This is DANGEROUS and should come with a warning to expect data loss!!
As I said, I took precautions. I simply created (...or 'saved' I think I should call it, a ne??(w session which is just using the session manager to give me a back up of all of the tabs that were open before I did anything drastic like trust an addon to do what it promised and handle some tab urls and restore them when asked to. Luckily, session manager works great...so does firefox sync, which was my secondary backup I suppose cos I had just sync'd my open tabs and sent them to other firefox open on my other PC and my laptop!
Well dear reader, if there still are any at this point, I want to leave you with some predictable advice so, here goes..l
Please Dont Bother With This!
I dont think it is ready for Prime time. Not quite yet. Too unpredictable for now and too risky for your data to be handled by and trusted with.
If you must have a go then be smart: Do some backup like my method.

- I've been using OneTab daily for a long time without a problem, however since the last couple of updates I've experienced a complete wipeout of all my saved tabs twice. It seems that every time that the extension is updated, all saved tabs get wiped.
Many other users are reporting the exact same issue, however the response from the development team so far has been denial, blaming users, firefox, privacy software, etc.
Clearly something is broken, be cautious when using this extension and make sure to backup your tabs regularly (specially before applying updates). 開発者の返信
投稿日時: 2ヶ月前Hi, we've checked the Firefox source code, and Firefox will not evict any OneTab data due to low disk space.
The problem is probably that you are running some kind of privacy cleaner or system cleaner software which is trying to evict Firefox data, and is wiping extension data (including OneTab) at the same time. Once it is activated there is noway to get back to your original tab layout unless you have backed up Firefox! I was able to get it back because I also using Simple Tag Groups and was able to restore over 1600 tabs using the Simple Tab Groups backup/restore.

投稿日時: 2ヶ月前Hi, you can do what you're describing.
By default, if you use Firefox tab groups, then each tab group will be stored separately, and can be restored separately.
If you want to store a whole window full of tab groups, and have the entire window restore at once with all of the tab groups inside, then you can do this by going to OneTab Options and choosing the "Send the current window to OneTab, including all tabs and tab groups" option. - 5 段階中 5 の評価Firefox ユーザー 18549406 によるレビュー (2ヶ月前)

投稿日時: 2ヶ月前I'm sorry this happened. The problem isn't Firefox, it's software such as privacy cleaners, or disk corruptions, that can corrupt Firefox's data stores.
The solution is to either ensure that your regular backup software (that keeps your files safe) also backs up your Firefox profile folder, or to use our upcoming encrypted cloud sync and backup feature.- NB! DO NOT USE THIS GARBAGE OF an addon. Yesterday received some update and today months of work is gone forever - no DB backup no nothing! It is not coded well at all!
I DID not refreshed my Firefox, neither did some kind of cleaning of the browser or Windows whatsoever.
What a f%#king shame !!!
I do not see any reason why is recommended app by Firefox, when I read that clearly I'm not the only one affected.
And please developers, don't say it is Firefox fault. It is not the only add-on we use. You can read firefox code, and fix your own!開発者の返信

What happened was not a bug in OneTab. Firefox profiles can become corrupted, and then there is nothing we can do on our end.
The solution is to either ensure that your regular backup software (that keeps your files safe) also backs up your Firefox profile folder, or to use our upcoming encrypted cloud sync and backup feature.
