2025-11-05 Update
Hmm, OK Mozilla changes has broken 115 esr add-ons?
Maybe they will update the esr, but dud not the last update 115.29.0esr.
Could there be a version on your github with your updates I could use that would allow the addon to update?
Thanks for looking into this.
p.s. my other addons are updating ok so far.
2025-10-24 Update.
Latest extension 1.29.0 also not updating. Still no error msg on update. Thinks its updated it, but re-checking updates puts it back in the update list. Guess its the same problem with Firefox 115.29.0 esr (64-bit) version *since updated from 115.28.0 used previously.
Any update on a possible fix please?
2025-10-04.
I'm using Firefox 115.28.0 ESR for Windows. I'm getting an error...
I'm using 1.28.0. "Available Updates" will now show 1.28.1 but won't install. No error msg.
Exported settings and Uninstalled 1.28.0.
Install latest version 1.28.1; Mozilla says file is corrupt. File: youtube_enhancer_vc-1.28.1.xpi.
CRC32 = df3dda8d.
Github .zip same error on install. SHA-256 verified the same.
Reinstalled 1.28.0 OK but restoring settings failed to work. No error msg.
The "Available Updates" will now show 1.28.1 again but won't install. No error msg.
I’m using Windows7, so it’s Firefox 115.28.0 ESR for me.
Guess it’ll be Linux after that because Win10/11...omg, what have they done!
Thanks for replying anyway.

投稿日時: 8ヶ月前Update the version of your browser, I tested with Firefox 115.28.0 ESR and had the corrupt install message then I updated the browser to 140.3.1 ESR and it worked fine. If this isn't an option I'll have to look into what is causing the install file to appear as corrupt for that version.
Edit: It is weird to me that this issue occurred. When I have time I'll try to test it all that changed from 1.28.0 to 1.28.1 was one bug fix nothing major changed so I'm confused as to what caused this to happen.
Edit (2025-10-24):
I’ve identified the issue, but unfortunately it isn’t something I can fix. Starting November 3rd, 2025, developers are required to disclose data collection practices using the 'browser_specific_settings.gecko.data_collection_permissions' key in the extension manifest.
Older versions of Firefox do not support this key. For example, when testing the extension on Firefox 115.29.0 ESR, the following error appeared:
Reading manifest: Error processing browser_specific_settings.gecko: Unexpected property "data_collection_permissions"
Edit (2025-11-06): Yes maybe they will update it but for now the addon won't work because it conforms to the new requirement.
I would need to release a version without this updated manifest value. Releases are automated so I would have to figure out a way to add that in. For now you can download the latest release from the Github and extract it then edit the manifest file to remove the unrecognized "data_collection_permissions" section

- THANK YOU
Shorts sudenly dont let you pick resolution anymore, witch means they load a 240p, no kidding
Luckily this extension fix it for my, i set 1440p as the default resolution and it appears its affecting shorts as well so i get the best quality allways
Also little bug. In the shorts player, if you have coments open and mini player activated on the extension, if you scroll down the mini player appears and plays nothing, just a black screen (because im watching shorts, it showld not appear at all)

投稿日時: 18日前Thank you for reviewing! I'm happy the extension can be of help to you, Also thanks for reporting that bug I'll make sure I get it fix before the next release. I've been working on a major project wide refactor that is going to make it so much easier for developers to contribute and even better for users in a way because some stuff has been made more efficient. - 5 段階中 5 の評価Firefox ユーザー 19838229 によるレビュー (2ヶ月前)

- This extension does the job of many closed-source extensions provide. Gave it 4 stars as I think there is plenty of room to grow and that is the only "con". The extension gives majority of the basic features to get a better youtube experience but some niche features may not be found (yet!). I highly encourage everyone to give it a shot and to provide feedback as the lead maintainer is great at communicating.

- Works perfectly. I replaced a YouTube Enhancer extension that got pulled from the Firefox store with this, very happy to have found a FOSS alternative that ticks all the boxes.
One suggestion, could you add the option to have a mini player pop up when scrolling down on a video? Similar to what Enhancer for YouTube™ had.
Thank you!開発者の返信
投稿日時: 4ヶ月前Thank you so much for the kind review! I’m really glad the extension is working well for you and that it could fill the gap after the other one was removed.
I’m also excited to share that two new features are coming in the next update:
• A mini player that opens automatically when you scroll down to read comments, plus a button to open it manually anytime
• A timestamp preview feature that shows a video preview when hovering over timestamps in comments and the video description
More good stuff on the way. I really appreciate the support!
Edit: This feature is almost ready to release. Because extension updates can take a while to be reviewed, I usually bundle a few bug fixes and improvements together before publishing a new version. 投稿日時: 4ヶ月前Thank you for reviewing, I'll look into fixing the remember last volume feature I wasn't aware it broke. The extension doesn't have a mini player when you go to the comments. Can you describe what "save volume setting" should do?
Edit: I tested remember last volume is working perfectly fine, it remembers what you set the videos volume to and restores it when the next video loads.
I plan on working on a mini player feature that appears when scroll down to the comments eventually. I could potentially add the option to set your preferred volume you want videos to start at as a feature, I think that's what you mean by "save volume setting"
Edit 1: I started working on the mini player feature- 5 段階中 5 の評価Cristi Nefiru によるレビュー (4ヶ月前)
- Edit: Thank you! That fixed it for me. I appreciate having a developer that actively works on their project. This add-on works excellently!
The app works very well and I like how streamlined all the options are. A minor concern is that when you change the background colour for the website as a whole, it also changes the colour of the bars around a video when it's in theatre mode. It would be great if these could be separate, as I prefer when videos play on a black background, but the entire site being black is hard on the eyes.開発者の返信
投稿日時: 5ヶ月前Edit: You're welcome! thank you for updating your review I appreciate it
Thanks for the review, I am really glad you like how clean and streamlined everything feels.
The Deep Dark theme is not something I directly control. It is a separate theme that I have permission to include, so its background behavior comes from that. That said, you can tweak this yourself using the Custom CSS feature.
If you want the sides of the video in theatre mode to stay black while keeping the rest of the site lighter, you can add this:
```
div#movie_player {
background-color: black !important;
}
```
You can swap out `black` for any color you prefer. Thanks again for the feedback, it is definitely helpful. - 5 段階中 5 の評価Firefox ユーザー 16037773 によるレビュー (5ヶ月前)

投稿日時: 5ヶ月前This extension doesn't have a mini player feature yet, a bug fix will be released for that issue in time sorry for the inconvenience. If you have default to original audio track enabled disable that feature it has a known bug right now. The fix hasn't been released yet because I'm busy in life.- 5 段階中 5 の評価Firefox ユーザー 18215500 によるレビュー (5ヶ月前)

投稿日時: 5ヶ月前Thanks for reviewing! I'm kind of confused about what you are talking about. If you are talking about mid video sponsors an excellent extension Sponsor block already exists for this purpose. If you are talking about ads on YouTube I don't want to do that it.- 5 段階中 3 の評価Firefox ユーザー 19618202 によるレビュー (6ヶ月前)This Extension works well for the most part. I have problems tho with it locking up Firefox while watching a video, it just stops playing and the entire page has crashed. Nothing is clickable and Firefox needs to be restarted. Also the end screen cards are not selectable with 0 settings enabled. The only way to change this is to disable Enhancer. I wish this extension was more like the Chrome version.

投稿日時: 6ヶ月前Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I'm not sure yet what's causing the page to crash on your end. One known issue is with the "Default to original audio track" feature. If you have that enabled, try turning it off for now. A fix is ready and will be included in the next release.
I will also look into the issue with end-screen cards not being selectable. Regarding the Chrome version, the extension is the same across browsers, so you may be thinking of a different extension.
Thanks again for the feedback. It helps me improve the experience for everyone.
Edit 2025-12-09: I tested the issue with end screen cards not being clickable and wasn’t able to reproduce it. It’s possible another extension is interfering. If you can create an issue on the GitHub page, that would be greatly appreciated. Including a video that shows the behavior would also be extremely helpful. - 5 段階中 5 の評価Firefox ユーザー 19606063 によるレビュー (6ヶ月前)
