People cry and write same exact reviews that its 7tv that did something to their own extension to remove chat box, instead of reading same answer by 7tv devs saying it's twitch update that broke it...

New extension looks better

It seems the only reason most people are mad and leaving 1 star reviews is because a twitch update broke the old 7tv which is also currently being fixed. Personally I like this version much better. I have not found anything that I find worse yet.

- UI looks better
- I like seeing latency
- In the old version if I tabbed into a new stream the 7tv emotes for the old stream I had open would stop working. This has been fixed.

update is good, but why are you forcing people to switch by disabling chat...

Unacceptable! Disabling the chat to force users into installing a "new" version is beyond me .. And I'm a developer.

I started using it because they broke the excellent stable existing version, but dislike the interface changes, especially the lack of an option to use Light Mode and its failure to carry over my list of favorite emotes. I'll be switching to BTTV or FFZ until either this one is improved or the old one is fixed.

WHY a new extension? fix the other one! thousands of people spamming the chat that they can't chat with the 7TV extension anymore, other thousands answering them.....

I have never felt the need to write something like this, but the fact that I log in to a missing chat bar on stable branch - not just extension button missing but full bottom nav bar - shows clear malicious intent; It may be an okay update but its the perception of a rug-pull that can now happen at any moment which immediately has me moving to other alternatives.

If they're going to take away my ability to chat for their own extension at any time why not just use normal twitch chat at this point lmao; IN FACT, why not just mentally envision all the KEKWs, would give you more choice about which ones you see tbh.

forcing people to switch to this is stupid instead of just continuing to update the original and the fact its not compatible for me since im on waterfox and not firefox, it makes 7TV as a whole useless to me

Forcing everyone to switch to this new version by straight up removing the ability to chat with the old version is beyond predatory and absolutely unacceptable. I would rather never use 7TV again now that I know that the devs are willing to break its functionality in order to force its users onto new versions of the same service.

Since this update/release, it has completely broken the ability to delete your own messages as a head moderator. It also made the chat experience much worse by highlighting the highlight message redeem with purple background, and highlighting every mod message with a green outline. I will revise my review and rating if these issues are fixed.

So far seems to fix the issue with scrolling up in chat and clicking the button to resume that caused the video player to bug out on the last version. Some things that do stick out is it seems highlight is not working at least for first messages. Also where is the font size slider.

Could we have at least gotten a warning or something if you were going to push an entirely different add-on? This is functional but I spent half an hour trying to figure out what the heck happened to twitch chat- not thinking it was the former app breaking it. Some kind of mention about an upcoming update would have been extremely helpful in saving me (and others, surely) the headache.

why?? why make a new one??? tell me!! the old one was just fine AND WAS WORKING!!!! AND YOU COULD CHAT AND EVERYTHING!! why didnt you JUST UPDATE THE OLD ONE?????? ay at least i can chat on twitch and see thos funny lil emotes !!! RIGHT ???? ....god,,, to be frfr tho it works you can chat, the ui looks nice, you can see 7tv, bttv, and ffz emotes, and can access twitch emote and classic emojis fav them it WILL NOT transfer from the old one however!! so thats fun! i dont know what else to add, so thats it.

I tried it a while.. Highlights on mention words/username don't work for me. And it's 'fights' with FFZ. I do like the layout and options! Would love an option to not automatic join raids. Chat timestamps with seconds and video, clip links under the video player, and I can remove FFZ haha. For now I revert back to nightly
