Great add-on. I can't understand why there's not other pop-up dictionaries. Believe me, I looked when I was having trouble with this one. Turns out, if you're using uBlock or some other blocker, you have to give new permissions to the new dictionary home page - (Dict.org). It was added with the latest release of this add-on (1.8.3). Also can't find a way to donate to this guy. I click the contribute link below and Paypal says "This recipient accepts PayPal payments only through their website." Ya gotta make it easy bro. Good work though.

    for "horsepower" def was "derived from a horse" - the "More" link said "file not found"

    very nice. personally i think its better than "Dictionary Anywhere" as it can do pop up definitions too... but it doesnt suffer from the issue of not being able to define a word because the double-click selected the space after. also, if it cant find a definition, it leaves a "more" link to quickly bring up another tab to a dictionary site of your choice (i chose "Urban Dictionary")! just remember to go thru the options and pick your search engine...

    Rarely works for non-root word forms, and definitions are often pointless.

    Ok, I can't stand this app anymore. Really? You can't find the definition for the word "rhetoric"? This thing cant find anything. I dont know what database it is using, but its missing basic words. Time to look for a new plugin.

    could be really good. I liked how simple it was, and the UI was clean when it displayed the definition.

    however, probably more than half of the words that I actually need to search a definition for, don't show any results on this extension! the majority of the time I end up having to google it, which shows a definition fine. if there was just a wider range of words in this extension, it would be good. until then, I'm going to have to uninstall.

    This would have been an easy 5-stars if we could only add a key to activate the search function. I mean, we all double-click stuff all the time, but how many times have you meant to check the definition of the text rather than just copy it or something?

    After using this extension for more than a year I moved on from it cuz of how it looked in dark mode. But came back to it just after a month ( cuz this one hardly ever shows me "definition not found" ) and was really delighted to find the theming issue solved.

    Lets you select what dictionary source it polls, which means it also works through a VPN whose dictionary requests get blocked by google. Extra bonus points for light/dark theme choice!
