Data processed when shortening a link

The extension does not read or transmit clipboard contents automatically.

When you explicitly start a shortening operation, the extension reads the URL from your clipboard. After local validation, the selected target URL is transmitted to petuja.link because this information is required to create the requested short link.

The extension does not collect browsing history and does not automatically inspect the active tab or the contents of websites you visit.

Personal mode and API Credentials

Personal mode is optional.

If you configure a petuja.link API Credential, it is stored locally in Firefox extension storage. Saving, replacing, or removing the Credential does not transmit it to petuja.link.

The Credential is transmitted to petuja.link only when you explicitly create a Standard or Ultra link in Personal mode. Firefox requires permission for this authentication-data transmission before the request is made.

The Credential is not included in generated URLs, QR codes, analytics, telemetry, or user-facing logs.

QR codes

QR codes are generated locally inside the extension. No external QR-code service is contacted.

Analytics and telemetry

The extension does not use analytics, telemetry, advertising trackers, or behavioral profiling.

Local storage

The extension stores its settings and, if configured, the Personal API Credential locally in Firefox extension storage. Browser extension storage is not represented as an encrypted or hardware-backed credential vault.

Data recipients

Data required for shortening is transmitted only to the petuja.link service.

No data is sold to advertisers.

Changes

This privacy policy may be updated if the extension's functionality or data processing changes.
