- 5점 만점에 4점Shin-Cataro 님, 14일 전I Really hope its just a big misunderstanding, as you already answered all those many dislikes i had to just give this one 4/5 Stars, one star less, because it looks so horrible, i really do not like Datamining and i really want to trust you Mr. Dev... soooo I’ve told Mozilla about it, in the hopes that the wording gets corrected to match what the extension is actually doing.
No one in their right mind would opt into data mining like this, even if it’s just the appearance of it being wrong.
Especially because many extensions these days are going in that direction, data is the oil of the modern technocracy, so to speak.
If the concerns are unfounded, I hope you can clarify that soon Mr. Dev. If not, well… i just hope we still can trust you.개발자 답글

RYD hasn’t changed how it handles your data. What changed is how Mozilla labels these permissions - not what the extension does with your data.
The extension is actually recommended by Mozilla, so they do not consider it harmful or dangerous.
The only data the extension uses is what it needs to show dislikes and count votes.
Its site permissions cover YouTube and its own API at returnyoutubedislikeapi.com. RYD doesn’t read other websites, and these site permissions cannot be used to access them.
Here’s what those permissions mean:
Personally identifiable information - RYD’s randomly generated, anonymous user ID, used to count votes. This isn’t your Google or YouTube account.
Browsing activity - opening the next YouTube video, so the extension can send its video ID and fetch the new dislike count.
Website content - things like the visible like count, which helps calculate dislike estimates.
Website activity - clicking Like or Dislike.
Again, this is about YouTube activity. The extension isn’t watching everything you do across the internet - it simply can’t do that with these site permissions.
The new labels sound scary, but they don’t give the extension access to more websites.

The plugin being open source and the dev responding to questions and criticism is what saved it. If a popup for the update happened before its update to explain what it actually does, I feel this would have been avoided. - Works alright enough, does what it should and nothing else (so far). Wondering if there's a way to stop it requesting new permissions, for good. I don't want or need to keep having to click Cancel, and keep having the warning symbol on the menu button on every relaunch of the browser. I shouldn't have to repeat the dissent to having my data collected.

This is the Firefox's behavior - not extensions, sorry, I'm working on what can be done to improve your experience. - This addon has a bug that prevents auto-translated CCs from working. It also has ridiculous monetization as of September 2026.
*Edited from 2 to 4 Stars after reading the Developers response. I see monetization in it's current state, that is in the manner that it is presented, as an issue regardless of the circumstances. I would return to using this addon if whenever I install it again I find that CCs have gotten fixed.개발자 답글
16일 전에 게시됨"ridiculous monetization" is 1 changelog message on browser restart in 5 years. You can close and never see again. I understand that it is annoying - and I sincerely wish this wasn't needed. But the price of running the extension exceeded the donations that it was receiving - so I decided to add a new optional feature - that some people might find useful - and these people will cover the costs for the rest of us. Hopefully.

16일 전에 게시됨Hi, Mozilla's policy is "no data collected in private windows." And counting your vote counts as "data collection."
So I need to implement a feature in the extension to detect that it is in a private window -and it should stop sending votes. It is not difficult - but I was short on time and wanted to get FF fixes to people faster. So it was easier to just disable it in private windows altogether - not to get punished for non-compliance.
I will work on this soon.
I only hope that the extension is allowed to make a request with a video ID (to get dislike counts). Because technically, this could be deemed data collection too - not sure yet.
And yeah - the policies are new - people are still learning how they work, and Mozilla is still figuring it out themselves.
Maybe some wording will be improved.
There should be a difference between this extension sending a randomly generated userId to count votes - and some other extension that steals your name, address, email, and phone number. But right now they both are "collecting personal data". - 5점 만점에 4점SoraShiro16 님, 21일 전

Это пожалуй главный минус. Понимаю, что ,возможно, это из-за того, что это приложение не может позволить себе тратить деньги и ресурсы на облачную синхронизацию, но тогда хотелось бы большей прозрачности как работает повторный дизлайк (отменяет уже поставленный или добавляет дубль). В первом случае это черевато тем что люди могут отменять дизлайки сами того не зная. Во втором массовыми дизами от неуникальных пользователей - что тоже плохо

- 5점 만점에 4점pseudofungi 님, 4달 전for some reason, the firefox extension is out of date by two years. the latest update is of may on github, though there's been reports where if you do fetch the newest version of the firefox extension via the github, it's corrupted allegedly. i've had luck though with the tampermonkey script which installs easily if you have the tampermonkey extension.
whether it's because mozilla is taking a long time to approve the newest version of the extension or the extension developer hasn't updated it yet here due to unknown reasons, just go with the tampermonkey script. it does the job and it works! - 5점 만점에 4점Ano Ni Muse? 님, 5달 전Thumbs down icon disappeared in Firefox browser. 5달 전에 게시됨YouTube changed its UI and broke the extension on Firefox. The fixed Firefox update was submitted at the same time as the Chrome update; Chrome review completed faster, while Firefox review is taking longer. It will be available as soon as Mozilla approves it. 개발자 답글
