This temporarily fixes the "no favicon" issue: It restores the correct favicon as the add-on promises to do. Once loaded, the icon stays in the favicon database—at least until the next refresh—even if the add-on is disabled or removed.

The option to remove the URL bar icon no longer exists 🫤

I was frustrated by the number of bookmarks in Firefox that appeared with the generic globe icon, an issue I never encountered in other browsers. Clearing the cache, removing and re-adding bookmarks, resetting the browser, changing privacy settings, deleting bookmark data in profile folders—none of the commonly recommended solutions worked. This tool fixed the problem instantly. Though it's important to note that it's not for websites that don't have a visible favicon to begin with.
