- Ocena: 1/5Autor: leetNigthshade, 5 dni temuNew permissions verbatim: "The developer says this extension collects: personally identifying information, financial and payment information." Wtf. I don't care if that's different wording of existing permissions, I don't want you to have those permissions, NordVPN.
If you look at the Proton VPN extension it only requires permissions for Access your data for account.proton.me and account.protonvpn.com. Whereas for Nord it's required to access all website data, not optional. If Nord needs to access data for account information, they should restrict it to Nord domain(s), rather than leaving it open for this extension to be able to read all website data. That seems like an implementation improvement they can make, rather than excuses.Odpowiedź autora
Data: 3 dni temuHello! Thank you for your review. Please note that despite the different wording, the same permissions as previously are used and we do not collect any additional information. While we cannot comment on other services, website access is required for VPN to run on them. If you'd like more information or have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at support@nordvpn.com. -D.S. - Ocena: 1/5Autor: Shadi, 8 dni temuNordVPN is pushing an update to force data harvesting including privacy data and payment information. Even from paying users like me!

Data: 7 dni temuHello! Thanks for noticing. A few days back Firefox update changed how permissions are displayed, but we haven't introduced any new data collection. The broad language refers to existing info like your subscription ID and currency. We remain dedicated to privacy and only use the data necessary to keep things working for you. -L.L. - Ocena: 1/5Autor: NeoOne, 9 dni temu

Data: 9 dni temuHey, yesterday we had a Firefox extension update approved, and Firefox is now showing broader consent categories for data the extension already used. No new data collection was introduced on our side. The wording may look alarming, but in reality it refers to things like subscription ID/type, payment status, currency, etc. We remain committed to collecting only the minimum data necessary to provide and maintain the service. -L.L. - Ocena: 1/5Autor: Atman, 9 dni temu
- Ocena: 1/5Autor: Użytkownik Firefoksa 16751809, 9 dni temuWhat the heck is that 🤨 ? Private data harvesting... for a privacy related product.
One could start think about if our data is actually private when using Nord products.
If this won't be reverted no way I'm gonna prolong subscription.

Edit: (forbidden URLs: look for ["Announcing data collection consent changes for new Firefox extensions" site:blog.mozilla.org] in search engine)- is what I assume is L.L. referring to.
I'd like to see explanation then why it was collected up until now, just simply policy was not requiring to explicitly be stated up until now.
Can this really, really cannot be avoided?Odpowiedź autora
Data: 9 dni temuHello! To be clear, no new data collection was introduced with yesterday's update. Firefox is now showing broader descriptions for existing data like subscription IDs and payment info. It might look alarming, but we are still focused on data minimization and only use what’s essential to provide the service. -L.L. - Ocena: 1/5Autor: Użytkownik Firefoksa 12626933, 9 dni temuWhile a VPN advertises that you won’t be tracked online, now the VPN itself tracks your financial, payment, and personally identifying info. Brilliant scheme.

Data: 9 dni temuHi! Just to clarify, our update yesterday didn't add any new data collection. Firefox is simply using broader categories to describe data we’ve always used, like subscription and payment status. The wording can look intense, but we’re still strictly committed to collecting only the bare minimum needed to run the service. -L.L. - Ocena: 1/5Autor: Cookiz, 10 dni temuLatest update asked permissions to gather personal data and payment information, which is unacceptable for a VPN organization.

Data: 9 dni temuHello! Just wanted to clarify that yesterday’s update didn't introduce any new data collection. Firefox has simply moved to broader consent categories for data we already used, such as subscription type and currency. The new wording can seem alarming, but our commitment to privacy and data minimization remains exactly the same. -L.L. - Ocena: 1/5Autor: Greg, 10 dni temuThe latest update sneakily forces privacy data harvesting, including financial information, forms, and payment data. This is ridiculous and should be banned.
RE: Stop making this sound harmless. Firefox is clearly asking me to approve new required data collection before the extension can update. I cannot reject these permissions separately, so in practice I either accept the added privacy risk or I cannot install the update.
The warning explicitly mentions personally identifying information, financial and payment information, authentication information, and location. That is not just normal technical wording. If no new data collection was introduced, then explain exactly why Firefox now requires this new consent and why users are being forced to approve it. At the moment it looks like a serious privacy downgrade, and I am not comfortable accepting it.

- Ocena: 1/5Autor: 4ron84, 2 miesiące temuCompletely useless. At some point during a long session, you might get logged out or the plugin might reset, and suddenly you’re browsing with your real IP address on all open tabs. Even the “KillSwitch” feature doesn’t deliver what it promises. Which is, of course, completely unacceptable if, for example, you want to run an anonymous X account.

Data: 3 miesiące temuHello there. We understand your concerns! Please note that this permission is required due to the way the browser operates, and we have no control over it. We are still compliant with our no-logs policy and from our side, no permissions have been changed, so no data is collected and is fully protected. Apologies for the caused confusion. If you'd have any further concerns do not hesitate to contact us at support.nordvpn.com. G.M. - Ocena: 1/5Autor: Bo Jonk, 3 miesiące temuThe add-on slows down my browser enormously. When it's on, it takes 10 seconds for the page to load, without it, not a second. It wasn't like this before. I had tried everything and reset Firefox, but it turns out that the NordVPN add-on slows everything down. So no recommendation from me. With my regular Nord app/subscription, I have no problems.
