Data: 4 miesiące temuIt's absolutely not true. The features for Patreon are clearly highlighted with [only for our patrons] in the extension description, which anyone can check. The basic groups for organizing playlists are free, if you want extended features, you should become a patron. It takes time to update the extension every time YouTube changes internally.
Furthermore, the decision to keep some features for the Patreon version of PocketTube was made to ensure the long-term feasibility of the free version. Odpowiedź autora
Data: 5 miesięcy temuAnd what? The paywall is working as expected. The basic groups for organizing playlists are free, if you want extended features, you should become a patron. It takes time to update the extension every time YouTube changes internally.
Furthermore, the decision to keep some features for the Patreon version of PocketTube was made to ensure the long-term feasibility of the free version.- Ocena: 1/5Autor: hicalibercon, 6 miesięcy temuthis implied that i could add every video in a playlist to my own playlist. it lied to me.

Data: 6 miesięcy temuWhat? It's not clear what you mean exactly. It's a YouTube feature to add a video to a playlist, we're adding search and sort to the pop-up. - Ocena: 1/5Autor: DisplayName, 8 miesięcy temuPaywalled.
I should have read the other reviews before trying it, I guess.
I understand that you want money for it, but then put it in the first line of the description.
Most people don't want to pay for an extension, so you are just creating suffering.
I said FIRST LINE OF THE DESCRIPTION.
No one reads the whole descriptionOdpowiedź autora

- Ocena: 1/5Autor: TRR, 10 miesięcy temuHaha, started this up and is has lots of nice features, click any feature and it says "only for patrons".
Nice.
Edit:
In response to the developer response, the thing that's wrong with this in my view is that without declaring clearly that most of the features are locked behind a paywall, it's a bait and switch. Monetising a product is understandable, but here the description boasts a bunch of features without saying you have to pay money for them, and I think that's dishonest.
In fact, the description even suggests supporting the developer on patreon, which implies to me this product is a donation-supported, typical of free software. I don't know how popular it is to "donate" to developers of paid software on patreon. It's not really a donation then.Odpowiedź autora

You can see a list of additional features on our Patreon tab. - Ocena: 1/5Autor: Użytkownik Firefoksa 16912776, rok temusomeone sent this to me and i found out later that the only feature worth having is paywalled, i originally was just going to leave it at that and uninstall, but the dev was being cringe in response to other reviews.

Data: rok temuYou didn't even use my extension and left one star without any reason, what a cringe review - Ocena: 1/5Autor: Użytkownik Firefoksa 19231949, rok temuLiterally wanted this for one thing, to organize my watch later playlist by video length, and they paywalled it. With no mention on the download page that you need to pay. This is literally the first add-on I've ever been told I needed to pay for to use a feature. Really Scummy.

Data: rok temuScummy, really? I'm not cheating you. The link on Patreon is available on the extension download page. Why did not open it? Moreover, it's also mentioned in the description, please check the Sort playlist videos by duration [only for our patrons]

So did you blame me without any reason? Why did you scum me in your review, little guy, who's trying to innovate?
I am not a big corporation. We all like free stuff. But in a world where everything is free, we are the product. It's a world where big corporations have all the power because they are the only ones who can afford to offer "free" services. Is that in our interest? Odpowiedź autora

- Ocena: 1/5Autor: Użytkownik Firefoksa 13623447, rok temuWow, nice paywall app, first time I've seen that...You know, lots of other addon makers spend time updating their apps too and they don't beg for money. Greeeedy.

Data: rok temuThat's not true, our extension is ad-free. Maybe you have other extensions causing that behavior. We don't add external ads or replace native YouTube ads.
Edit: If you were referring to our other add-on, it's not an external ads, it's part of our own ecosystem. PocketTube includes two extensions: one for managing subscriptions and another for playlists. If the other add-on isn’t relevant to you, you can simply close the popup, there’s no pressure.
The popup you saw is part of our onboarding flow. We also use it to inform users about new features. We focus on building features our users love and rely on every day.
If you’re not comfortable with our approach, you’re welcome to remove the extension.- Ocena: 1/5Autor: Użytkownik Firefoksa 18983384, rok temu
