My Oneplus 6T developed a problem after getting an update. If I'm not using YouTube then all videos are cropped in to take up the whole screen, chopping off content. This happened for whatever browser I was using, including Chrome. Getting Firefox and this add-on solved that. I guess the only thing I could ask for is being able to pinch or unpinch to change the modes (normal/upscale/stretch) or something like that. That way I don't have to open the menu to change it if I ever want to.

Edit: for those of you unable to use this, check out F-Droid and Fennec. F-Droid is an open source Android repository (think of it as a 3rd party app store for free/open source apps. Fennec is a free and open-source version of Firefox, and using Fennec you can download the specific older version of Firefox(Fennec) that allowed non recommended add-ons like this. I believe it was version 68.12.0

Thank you for the review. Please explain what is F-Droid and Fennec to those Android newbies or to non-android users that might want to switch and try.

I am personally not familiar with it and I find it unfortunate that Mozilla doesn't want to select this add-on as "Recommended", so that everyone can install it on their Android devices.

    The new gestures collide with those from enhancer for youtube plugin. Please make them opt-in or configurable. Atm I have to disable this plugin unfortunately.

    Response for dev: it’s the ctrl+scroll. With the enhancer plugin it changes the video’s playback speed. For me the issue started only few days ago after I had to reconfirm some permissions. Maybe before the other plugin was overriding your gestures and now it’s the other way around, idk. Thanks for the quick reply anyway :)

    Thank you for the review and the feedback.
    Mind telling me which gestures are in question and what does Enhancer do with them?

    I will have to make gestures opt-in with default being ON, because it's been like that for a year. But it's a good suggestion nonetheless.

    Not at all.

    Declared data must match what the code sends:

    - personallyIdentifyingInfo → license bridge & install/review pings
    - browsingActivity → Pro settings sync of per-site keys
    - websiteContent → Pro voice input audio

    i often use an HDMI-to-RCA converter to watch youtube on my old CRT TV. by default, it just squishes everything to fit on the 4:3 screen. i use UltraWideo to un-squish my youtube videos.

    it's always been a lifesaver for that, and this new update just made it even better. the pan feature is ingenious - now, if the 4:3 screen is cutting off something important, i can reposition the video so that it isn't. highly recommend this extension!

    It works. I personally don't like the shortcuts since I have a touchscreen laptop. I hope the developer make them optional soon!

    In response to the developer: yes, exactly. The gestures should be opt-in. I would suggest only keyboard shortcuts for touchscreen devices. Thanks!

    Last update is the best sure it asks for some data but all the content is screched always now espeically if you want to watch twitch on ultrawide and see the chat full video like full full screen and chat just besides great work dev man

    New update broke it for me., Installed new update stopped working completely, checked the preferences, still would not work, went back to previous version worked straight away.

    Actually works pretty well, but gets 2 stars deducted for new version suddenly wanting to collect my personal data and surf activity!

    Well, unfortunately the Firefox will require data collection to be disclaimed soon enough from all extensions and we'll be seeing a lot of those questionable permissions.

    In case of UltraWideo, if you are free user, you have nothing to worry about and if you are paid user, you already know which feature will use "surf activity".

    To clarify:
    personallyIdentifyingInfo - voice input, license key and instance id (none for free user)
    browsingActivity - Pro settings sync of per-site keys
    technicalAndInteraction - install id, extension version, review prompt

    Last update was: 3 months ago (Jan 4, 2026)

    So nothing was changed "recently". It's either something related to Linux or an extension that you have installed that is conflicting with UltraWideo. If you have any extensions that have similar purpose, uninstall them.

    Also, have you tried uninstalling entirely and installing again? If you did, and it still does not work, I am happy to check it out over AnyDesk or something that you have on Linux.

    I have no clues otherwise why it would stop working for some users. I've been getting straight 1 star reviews with no helpful feedback on GitHub that would help me to debug and resolve the issue.

    Aside, working fine for me in Firefox 148 on macOS.

    Any help is appreciated!

    This isn't helpful at all. Mind telling me how 3.5.5 isn't working? There's literally only change for the scaling option that makes scaling of X or Y axis - reflect the change of the other that's modified.

    Tested in latest firefox and in nightly and it seems to work fine for me still.

    Works better for me than the other one, Ultrawidify. Also, the UI is nicer. Only annoyance so far for me is that I can't support it/purchase Premium with just a one-time purchase. I would if that was an option.

    Just after a couple days using the video doesn't show correctly. Only half the screen. It cuts off the bottom half
