AdBlock uses 200M of RAM on my machine verified with SystemMonitor before and after disabling (no other changes), the symptoms were gray unusable Firefox for several seconds frequently, this does not appear to be a bug rather a design error

Thanks for letting us know. Oftentimes, high memory usage like this can be the result of having a large number of filter lists enabled. Do you happen to know how many you have enabled? If it's more than 3 or 4, you can experiment with some of the filter lists to see if that helps.
