This is exactly what I was looking for! Just a simple little add-on that makes visual a selection (one folder) of my bookmark tree, while keeping my Firefox bookmarks intact. I love every single feature: the bookmark-folder-selection, choosing a background colour for the new tab, the ability to resize the page window before taking the snapshot for the thumbnail, and the ability to move or delete the bookmarks right on the tab. Wonderful!

Works like an older extension that was not updated to work with Quantum.
Make a bookmark, name it and it appears. Customize background, columns and you're done. Fits my needs perfectly.
