(Updated) Seems to work well. Rather difficult to find how to run it though. Perhaps the dev could add the instructions to the 'Description' or 'About this extension'?

To launch the extension, you need to click on the puzzle icon in the top right corner of the Firefox window and then click on 'Bookmarks clean up'.
