It's simply a link to open hangouts in a pop-up! It miss the main purpose, for it does'nt notify new messages incoming. Then, the pop-up cannot be minimized, and stays on top! Very annoying.

You can't minimize the application and it doesn't show notifications.

This is little more than an extension that puts the hangouts.google.com page in its own minimal window without any of the normal task buttons. Not nearly as good as the chrome plugin, but better than nothing. Considering what it is, i'd give it 4 stars, except that it's always on top with seemingly no way to change this. This "feature" makes the plugin completely unusable for any one-screen setup. Your'e better off just going directly to the google hangouts page.

It works but the layout is just horrible. Can we have the layout from the other Hangouts app that works on chrome, please?

I'm a writer and use Hangouts to communicate with my editor and other writers while we all look at a shared gdoc. Cut and paste isn't working. When I paste text into the chat window, I can't see it, and I can't see what I type next. I end up double-pasting things because I think they didn't get pasted the first time. I'm switching back to Chrome and running hangouts from there.

The pop-up window for this extension is useful enough but there are no notifications on the icon itself. I don't need an extension to open a window to a site that I have bookmarked. I'd rather have a new tab with notifications.
