How it works

Click the toolbar icon (hold Shift to flip between modes).
The extension extracts the main content using Mozilla's Readability, strips noise like ads, sidebars, and nav, then converts what's left to Markdown.
The file downloads to your machine with a safe filename built from the page title and domain.

Two download modes

Full Markdown — links and images preserved. Good for archiving and sharing.
Plain text — links and images removed. Optimized for LLM context windows and minimal noise.

Set your default in the options page. Hold Shift while clicking to use the opposite mode for one-off cases. Privacy All processing happens locally. No page content or metadata is ever sent to any server. The only permissions needed are activeTab (to read the current page when you click), downloads (to save the file), and storage (to remember your mode preference). Known limits Readability works best on article-style pages — blogs, documentation, news. Highly dynamic apps, dashboards, and some code-heavy pages may not extract perfectly. Enable debug logging in the options page if you run into issues with a specific site.
