Backup your browser before attempting this process. Backup your browser's profile directories.. Locate and download the browser's (complete, standalone) full version of the browser that you are using. You may simply reinstall over the older version or do a clean install by removing the older version through an uninstaller. Reinstalling the browser from scratch is often a very good approach to use if all else has failed. However you may wish to complete a BACKUP IMAGE of your current operating system with a bootable disk clone creator such as MACRIUM REFLECT. If you take the time to do this step you may thank yourself later. Its a fast running disk cloner, easy to use and there is a completely functional free version, which I do appreciate the fact that the author will always continue to offer it as completely free, no questions asked. Macrium Reflect will protect you from your own "potentially blundering self" by maintaining complete Library backups of your current OS and installed support utilities, Mistakes and blunders do happen from time to time and they may occur with in the blink of an eye or over a period of days or weeks. By keeping Macrium installed you may always create updated clonings of your current boot disks and this is a priceless tactic to employ. Always maintain clones of your main OS boot disks onto USB drives in order to keep yourself sharp and sane Mistakes and blunders will occur leaving you with the process of cliff hanging in a shit storm with regard to login passwords, etc. Stay prepared by keeping your clones updated and duplicated.
