Excellent for people like me that suffer from photosensitivity but perfect for everybody that is conscious about protecting the eyes while surfing. Many people don't know but constant exposure to the bright light of computer monitors, which is even more present in all the white colors online, is harmful for our eyes. Dark Reader is the perfect tool to reduce the eye strain while using your browser and I use it on Firefox, Chrome and the new Chromium-based Edge browser. Full of many useful options, fast and effective, Dark Reader is a must have add-on. Many thanks to all the devs that work on this.

    Performance was always icky on Firefox, but recently its just horrible, unusable on low end devices and frequently pushes hardware temps up (the way i even noticed it on main powerful pc, its not felt but you could see high cpu use by stats)

    I've been using Dark Reader for years, but now it slows down and even hangs my browser. When I use Firefox Settings to set backgrounds to black, I lose highlighting effects. Absence of a working dark mode could cause me to abandon Firefox. :-(

    Efficiently renders webpages as dark by altering elements directly (by default). Very effective at eliminating bright backgrounds no matter the source. Interface is a bit clunky with four subpages to sift through, and verbiage a bit confusing. Can rarely unintentionally hide elements from sight, so double-check a page with it disabled in case anything is missing.

    The best dark mode add-on there is and nothing else comes close, visually it's brilliant! it dynamically and intelligently changes any page to look great depending on the different sites. I haven't seen one site that looks bad with it. The only problem is the performance hit on certain sites where it causes some slow downs, But it's so good that I don't really mind it that much.

    It's mostly really good but on the occasional site, like Aliexpress, I need to disable it and then enable it for it to display the page correctly. I don't understand it as it is still using the same filter when I cycle it but for some reason it has to be done to a few sites to display properly. Other than that this is a must have as while backgrounds are eyeball destroyers.
