av Firefox-användare 15240182, för 5 år sedanI want to give 5 stars but i docked one ONLY because of slight irritation with how Tab Stash comes 'out of the box' once installed. I admit, to be fair, I did not read any of the help information (which is fantastic that the creator even included it in this day and age for tech) but I have been trying to see how intuitive the plugin is without guidance (the hallmark of good code/design IMO). I think that the code runs beautifully and do not anticipate any 'hiccups' occurring with the functionality of how the code works from as far as my novice understanding of webdev can comprehend. The issue lays for me with the design/placement of certain buttons. I have accidentally deleted new groups/directories because -- upon dragging the tab menu out to make bigger -- when clicking the arrow (right) for the drop down menu button. the padding (I think) is off or at least, made dissimilar from the previous point the button was located on the layout, prior, to expanding the view of the menu, thus, I make multiple clicks (i assume this may affect users with a trackball mouse more because the mouse pointer is more liable to make unwanted small/subtle movements related to the movement of the person's thumb) which are off point, then, accidently hit the scroll wheel, and bam! Kicked my frustration up a notch. becasue groups with only a single item have the red 'x' located below the groups 'open/close' arrow button; therefore, if you click to fast and uncarefully, in an expanded menu view, the the mouse is likely to hover unknowingly over the link below, right on the 'close' button and thus deletes the entire group -- the other problem, this could be mitigated by having an optional* popup menu for this "are you sure you want to delete this group?" or maybe instead of an arrow, make the entire group label, in list view, always closed until opened, by clicking the label, which is more button 'real-estate' requiring less strain on my eyes to find the small buttons which are kind of lost in the thin default font which stacks all of the links open very fast into a mess for my eyes to sort out and then find the button.
I think a large tab menu label serving as a button itself which upon clicking, expands into the shit you want to see.
but the lines throw me off too -- i understand the line is meant to be seen as an indication of separation and a heading but i expect the line to also dropdown to the bottom of the list, below the content of links. Which I guess isn't a bg problem when the list grows large but when you onlu have a one or a few items, the line distracts me momentarily, post animation.
but overall I anticipate having a lot of use out of this web tool!
thank you for your effort

postad för 5 år sedanHi, thank you for the thoughtful review! I definitely understand deleting something by mistake is frustrating. When deleting something, you should see a blue notification bubble appear at the top for a short time; clicking it will undo the deletion (or if you've done multiple deletions recently, it will take you to the deleted-items page).
I went with this approach instead of the confirmation like you suggested, because interrupting the user to ask for confirmation on every delete can be pretty obtrusive—95% of the time, the answer is "yes, I meant to do that". "Undo" gives you an easy way to fix any mistakes while still (mostly) staying out of your way.
I'll keep your other UI feedback (e.g. about the separator line and stacking up too many items) in mind for future releases. Thanks again!

Implementing the data store in the form of bookmarks is a great idea. It’s a major help in a world where no browser yet understands the concept of ubiquity, the importance of having a robust implementation of workspaces that allow us to maintain consistency across the many computers we might use.
I would just appreciate if it were able to save and restore the pinned status of the tabs. The data layer allows for this; Firefox bookmarks let you assign a tag like “*Pinned”, which in my opinion would be the ideal and most simple way to store this attribute.
It would also be great if we could open a Tab Stash group as a Firefox tab group, or even open a TS group in FF along with its sub-groups (at least the top-level ones; in this regard, TS far surpasses the capabilities of FF tab grouping), accurately reflecting this “tree” structure.
If these features exist, I haven't been able to find them.
In any case, it's fantastic; the kind of add-on you'll find hard to do without once you start using it. Thanks so much, Josh.Utvecklarens svar
postad för 8 dagar sedanThank you for the thoughtful and kind words! I really appreciate you taking the time to write this up.
Regarding the pinned status, unfortunately Firefox does not expose any APIs for extensions to use to edit tags and keywords—there's no way for me to store metadata along with a bookmark outside its URL and title. I wish there were because there is a lot more that could be done, but this is unfortunately not an option.
Regarding tab groups, I agree with you—it's a feature I'm actively working on but isn't ready yet. Unfortunately, it's taking me quite a long time due to life getting in the way, and due to the fact that it is a major change to how Tab Stash works internally and how it communicates with Firefox. I also want to make sure I get the feature right and that it doesn't feel bolted-on to how the extension works. So it may take a while longer yet, but it'll happen eventually!
And again, thanks for the kind words, they mean a lot! I'm happy to hear Tab Stash is working well for you. And of course, feel free to reach out on GitHub if anything ever comes up. - Betygsatt 5 av 5av Dvij D.C., för 11 dagar sedan

postad för 20 dagar sedanI myself use Tab Stash with vertical tabs on a daily basis, so I'm not really sure what you mean. If you have any more specific feedback about what's not working well for you, I'd love to hear it—please feel free to reach out on GitHub! - Betygsatt 5 av 5av Firefox-användare 18803533, för en månad sedan

Well thought out and effective.
Very useful for grouping daily tabs and working tab sets. - Betygsatt 4 av 5av Doug, för 3 månader sedanOverall, I liked it very much, was easy to use. HOWEVER, I just went through an upgrade fo Fedora, and related apps, and TAB STASH was removed as an extention in FireFox. As a result, I've lost all the TABS I specifically stashed to protect through the upgrade!
Utvecklarens svar
postad för 3 månader sedanNo idea why it would be removed in Firefox, unless the upgrade somehow completely wiped out your Firefox profile. But, assuming your profile (with all your other Firefox settings etc.) is still intact, your stashed tabs should still be there in your bookmarks! And you should still be able to reinstall Tab Stash from here and everything should continue to work. - Betygsatt 3 av 5av FireFox-User-1, för 3 månader sedanNearly a perfect extension with really BAD DESIGN DECISIONS FOR RESEARCH!
Why there is no easy naming like "into stash" and "out of stash" ?
Why stashing in disappears the NEEDED stashes?
Why Stashing out ADDS to the open ones when you only want to change a group and access that group?
Really the option to go in the bookmarks makes it the only acceptable Tabber but the work-flow-design are absolutely illogical and exactly what you want a Tabber not to do.
Tabbers are for instant access and not also chitchat with the tool!
So yes absolutely use it, but be aware of the 100%+ workload add-on for working with the tool.
As the tools most useful option is to save the work not making it easier in the flow.
So if the Dev can would address that, you really need no other tab-add-ons or even session manangers as all goes into the bookmark!!!
This is an impressive option!!!
Great work on that Dev!!!Utvecklarens svar
postad för 3 månader sedanI'm afraid I'm not really following what your concerns are, but you may want to have a look through GitHub to see if some of the things you're asking for are already covered as feature requests. And/or, feel free to open a new issue / new issues on GitHub for the things you think are missing or unintuitive, and I'd be happy to discuss further. Thanks for the comments! - Betygsatt 1 av 5av Ash, för 3 månader sedanI was hoping this would be a little more intuitive to use. Unfortunately the UX is hampered by poor UI choices

postad för 3 månader sedanSorry to hear you ran into trouble; unfortunately I have nothing to go on in your review to improve things. Please feel free to open an issue on GitHub if you have any more specific feedback. - Betygsatt 5 av 5av René, för 4 månader sedanExcellent! A bit confusing at first, but after a while I got the grip.
What I like a lot is:
1 - that you can rename stashed tabs and
2 - that stashed tabs stay unchanged since the extension copies an opened tab to the 'Open tabs' group. So: the stashed url does not change while navigating. This is a huge advantage over tabs in tabgroup: they change while clicking on links.Utvecklarens svar

- Betygsatt 5 av 5av Aguilucho, för 4 månader sedanExcellent extension!
It enhances the Firefox Bookmark feature.
It turns it into a flexible tool with many possibilities, of which my favorite is that it allows you to suspend a work session and resume it the next day or even days later without losing anything.
You can also resume by topic of interest, for example, Sundays, friends, etc., without losing the sequence of activity. It's like a bookmark but dynamic, because it follows you like a dog on a walk.
I wanted to make subfolders like stash2025, stash2024, etc.
How could I manage subfolders to make stash perfect?Utvecklarens svar
postad för 4 månader sedanThanks, I'm really happy to hear you like it! You can create subfolders with drag and drop (just drag one folder inside another), or by opening the "..." menu to the right of the folder name and choosing "New Child Group". Hope this helps! - Betygsatt 5 av 5av Rafael , för 4 månader sedanTabStash is one of those Extensions that should be included in the default browser. Right now my workflow is: current things are on TabStash, long term things are "normal" bookmarks. But that will change soon. This extension has been a life saver and after you try it you won't engage with your browser as before ever again.

Is there any chance of making this available to Firefox mobile? Especially Android edition. That would be killer especially if it used sync like the desktop version.Utvecklarens svar
postad för 5 månader sedanThanks for the kind words! Unfortunately, I'm not an Android user, so I have no way to develop and test it on Android. However, all your saved tabs are still accessible in your bookmarks on Android. You can feel free to edit the bookmarks on your phone, and Tab Stash on your desktop will pick up the changes when they sync. I know it's not ideal, but unless someone who uses Android steps up to help, I'm afraid that's the best I can offer right now. - Betygsatt 5 av 5av Phllip, för 6 månader sedan
