av Kenika, för 2 år sedanI downloaded and purchased the license to remove YouTube imposed QR watermark. I successfully downloaded and installed the standalone app (MAC). I had a series of 50 exercise videos to capture (to ultimately play on my Playstation 4). Using the App was fairly intuitive, but I did encounter a few hiccups. For instance, I wanted to set a default for resolution (720), but instead it kept defaulting to 1080, so I had to adjust the setting on each prior to download.
I bought another app license for a downloader that allowed me to download a 'program' of clips (numerous sequence clips in the program) without having to launch each. This would be a desired function here. That particular app however, didn't have the flexibility of CODECs (video and audio) that this add-on offers. This is so much better.
I liked the legacy UI through the menu bar, but I did get accustomed to the new UI. The downloader is quick and the CODECs work great.

It gets 4 stars now (not 5) for two reasons:
1)The developer has disabled the contact page on his site, and there's no way to reach him. This is a problem ...
2)It's a very weird design decision to make me select download directory and file name (from Download As) *after* the download is complete. It causes the Save As system dialog to interrupt what I'm doing, routinely stealing keystrokes meant for another program and erasing the correct filename, wasting my time.
