yazan: timwis, 5 yıl önceI'm a huge fan of 1Password and recommend it all the time. But the new Firefox extension gives me a few concerns:
1. Rendering on the web page instead of the browser chrome gives me less certainty that it's authentic (how do I know the website hasn't rendered or interfered with it).
2. Rendering on the web page presumably lets the web page access the contents of the dropdowns. I'm sure the 1Password team has taken every precaution to protect my data here, but it still makes me quite nervous, and generally reminds me of LastPass (and why I was so happy to move to 1Password because it _didn't_ that).
3. It generally feels less smooth: for example, it's a different keybinding to unlock it for some reason, and when the pop-up shows, pressing the down arrow sometimes skips the first entry in the dropdown for some reason.
Having said that, I'm loving the _contents_ of the new UI features, like previewing updating entries; I just wish they were part of the native app, or at least the browser chrome (but native app if possible).
P.S. I'm posting this here because the "What's new" blog posts suggest directing feedback here, and there's no other feedback links I could see on the 1Password website. I'm happy to remove this review and direct my feedback elsewhere if that's preferred. Thanks for your consideration.

Thank you kindly for taking the time to write this review and feedback. Much appreciated!
On 1 & 2, we do take many precautions here such that normal web content cannot interfere with the pieces we render into the web page. Through use of ShadowDOM (which stops other web content from being able to see our content), confirmation prompts (for credit cards and identity items which don't have associated URLs), and never taking an account password to unlock from within the webpage, we take a large number of precautions to secure the experience.
If you do still feel nervous about the in-page suggestions, they can be set to not automatically show or not show at all using the settings under the Autofill section.
If you want to continue to use the existing unlock shortcut, connecting the extension with the desktop app will let you use that. Once connected the unlocking the desktop app will unlock the extension. The keyboard shortcut for the opening the pop-up is configurable within the settings, but we definitely understand can be hard to change when you are so used to a specific workflow for so long :)
Thanks again for all the feedback and input here. Feel free to write to us if you have any additional concerns or thoughts you’d like to share! You can write to us via email privately to support+x@1password.com or publicly in our community forum: https://1password.community/

At the time of writing this, I can only get version 8.12.4 and 1Password have already released 8.12.12 two weeks ago. The version Mozilla have is close to 3 months old.... - 5 üzerinden 2 puanyazan: Christopher, bir ay önce

The most serious issue is that it does not work properly with HTTP Basic Authentication pop-up login windows. In Firefox, I often have to click multiple times and even navigate back in the browser before eventually receiving a different error message, after which the login may finally work. This issue does not occur in Google Chrome.
This has been going on for months. I pay for an expensive subscription, but I do not expect to renew it unless this problem is properly resolved. For my work, I use a very large number of HTTP Basic Authentication links with login pop-ups, and this simply has to function correctly. At the moment, I am forced to click repeatedly or switch to Google Chrome just to get basic functionality.
Support from 1Password has also been extremely slow. It often takes several days to receive a response, which is very disappointing.
My subscription runs until November 2026, but I am already considering alternatives. That is unfortunate, because 1Password does many things very well. However, when it comes to Firefox, the overall experience has been a major disappointment. Judging by the large number of negative comments here, I am clearly not the only one experiencing this.
Sidenote: also the 1Password application for Android phone has issues; it reports 9 out of 10 times, that it has no connection, so all passwords I am adding, do not show up on my desktop. #fail #1password - 5 üzerinden 1 puanyazan: Firefox kullanıcısı 19822537, 2 ay önceThe plugin is significantly slowing my browser, tested my suspicions on a browser benchmark site and speed score went from 8 with the plugin on and 30 with it disabled (nothing else changed)
- Crap application, intrusive, pop ups all the time. Obscure ways to configure, tries to be "intelligent" but of course is not and then hides its internal "guessed" configuration, much less flexible and customizable than Keepass.
When imposed by companies, have to use it, else avoid like hell ! (and do not use it for personal side, your data is on a cloud and a company which is not trustable !) - 5 üzerinden 1 puanyazan: Firefox kullanıcısı 5951631, 3 ay önceIf you already have 1password account, that has some kind of order, this extension will ruin the order you created by duplicating records you created with records called "Sign in" or something.

- Nul. Insupportable. Désinstallé direct.

- I've used this for years with no problems, but recently (within the last few months) it's been hyper-aggressive with the pop-up prompts - even when not signed in. Click out of it and immediately it comes back when you focus on the next field on the same page. It's gotten so bad I've had to disable the extension until the time i actually need it, and then once i'm done i have to disable it again. Not sure what the heck they changed on the back end but it needs to stop.
