The old popup was five identical tiles. Nothing told you what "Scrolling" or "Element" would grab, and changing a setting meant five steps through about:addons. This release replaces it with a viewfinder, and moves every setting into the popup.

Viewfinder frame. A thumbnail of the current tab with the selected mode's coverage drawn over it. Full page and Scrolling modes render the whole page and pan through it slowly, so you can see there is more below the fold. The render happens after the popup has opened and is capped at 8000 px, so opening stays instant.
Mode strip. All five modes visible with an icon and a label. Pick by click, by wheel over the frame, by arrow keys, or press 1 to 5 to pick and fire in one go. The last used mode is remembered.
One shutter. It reads "Capture full page" with the shortcut, then "Drag a rectangle on the page", "Set up the page…" with the countdown ring, "Capturing…", and finally "Copied to clipboard" as the thumbnail flies into the destination chip. Failures shake the frame and offer Retry in place.
Destination chip on the frame switches between Clipboard, File and Edit.
All settings inside. The gear slides in destination, format, quality, delay, the save dialog toggle and the filename template with clickable variables and a live preview built from the real tab title. No link out to another page.
Instrument Sans is bundled (30 KB, OFL). Nothing is fetched at runtime.

If you work from keyboard shortcuts, this is the part you'll notice. The countdown is now a centered disc with a draining ring, a big digit and an "Esc to cancel" hint, instead of a small badge in the corner. Success is a centered green disc where the check mark draws itself, with the outcome underneath. Failure is a red disc with a cross, a shake and the error message. All of it lives in a shadow root so page CSS can't restyle it. Escape in the popup during a countdown now cancels the countdown on the page too. Before, Escape closed the popup and the shot fired anyway.
