Pulled a bait-and-switch from being open-source to being a closed-source "enterprise" subscription product.

I wouldn't say it's necessarily spyware like the other reviews are claiming; Firefox addon permissions are finicky. But advertising as open-source, getting a bunch of articles written about it, and then switching to closed source with paid options... it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. It gained popularity as being community driven, like uBlock. Now it will likely die off. In any case, I'm no longer using it. It's a real shame, it had such great potential.

TURNED PRIVATE AND TO SPYWARE

It has became closed source spyware. Impossible to unistall from Firefox, I've hard cancelled the file from Firefox folder

I had high hopes for this addon when it first launched. The initial feature set was clean, effective, and looked genuinely promising. Unfortunately, it has taken a severe turn for the worse.

Recent updates suggest the extension has turned into a total data grab, tracking and collecting far more user data than what is ever necessary for its core functionality. To make matters worse, the developer has now made the source repository private, eliminating any transparency regarding what code is actually running behind the scenes.

Seemed like a good start until recent update wants permissions to "access your data for all sites". Figured I'd take a look at source code and this addon's development was moved to a private repo and what's left to the public already has GenAI fingerprints all over it. Uninstalling.

What a great extension and awesome idea. However just like another reviewer I have a problem with it having to access browsing activity (history) and website content in the new update. This seems like spyware and contradictory to the description saying it's "private by design". The developer explains why it needs to read our browsing activity.

Now requires browser history in the latest update. This is now spyware. Uninstalled.

Conceptually a good idea, I can't find the advertised settings to make it work with etsy though? Also very US centred which is worth bearing in mind if you live anywhere else.

one of my favorite extensions. tired of all the cheap brands on Amazon and this is solving it.

Still seems like early days, with occasional false positives or false negatives. But it’s very promising, the community can contribute feedback to improve it, and the developer is very responsive to feedback with lots of quick updates.
