від Yo Yo!, 9 років томуMy first experience with the WE version - trying to save its add-on page as a PDF - was very disappointing, to say the least. And that's why I've given it a very "ordinary" 3 star rating.
But before getting the timely warning that the old version of Print Edit ("PE") won't work with the upcoming Firefox version 57.0, and for more than a year since first discovering it, I've used PE every time I've wanted to save a web page, rather than just its URL - so maybe up to a dozen times a day. PE is far and away the best tool I've found for this purpose.
Just as well I haven't uninstalled the old version yet, so I had already used PE to create a "ready reference" PDF of the Print Edit WE add-on page. This page was the first time I've seen a clear explanation of what "Text Pieces" is for (but that might just be my bad, for not looking in the right place sooner).
Now, I can't wait for Firefox 57.0, which may at last fix the horrendous memory leaks we've been experiencing for at least nine months. But please tell us WHY can't Print Edit WE work to document the following special pages for Firefox:

(and similar pages for Chrome)?

оприлюднено 9 років томуPrint Edit WE uses the new Firefox WebExtensions API's, which are the same as the Chrome extension API's.
These API's do not allow extensions to perform certain types of operations on a few pages, which are either browser administration pages or web store pages, specifically:

- Оцінка 4 з 5від Crook.Style, 2 місяці томуIt does what it says, the only reason I don't give it 5/5 is the interface isn't great and the Save As HTML doesn't work for me - keeps saying to update the extension but I have the latest version / plus automatic updates toggled on for it so not really sure what that's about. But yeah otherwise, nice way to clean up webpages prior to saving / printing.

- Оцінка 1 з 5від Imota, 3 місяці томуEverything is wonderful until you start printing. Once you start printing nothing is wonderful. This thing will not let you print your pages as you expect. Limitations are everywhere. Also, it cannot save your article in PDF format.

But similar to the in-built screenshot function of firefox, it often fails with capturing a chat session with a LLM correctly and only saves the pdf of what is currently on the screen.

especially great for when people send you emails with messy formatting and you need to print them out for paperwork purposes.

- Does the job as expected. It is easy to select different parts of the page and print only what's required. I like that fact that it does not require a reload of the page, either when clicking the extension or when closing it down.
I would love an 'auto' function that gets rid of stuff automatically, and the user can tweak further if needed (or undo).
It would be more helpful if the buttons & functions had a small tooltip description about what each sub-component does.
