This used to be an excellent add-on that downloaded virtually all the videos I threw at it. It no longer downloads any videos. Believe it or not, even Video Download Helper is currently better than this waste of space.

The situation has reversed again in that yt-dlp now works and Video Download Helper doesn't. However, every now and then yt-dlp decides to download not only the video I selected but also everything else on that channel. How the heck do I stop that?

Could use some polish such as usage instructions but i found the button in the right click menu in the end and it does what it says on the tin.

Doesn't work fully correct for me. I don't know why, but by default there seems to be no button to download videos on YouTube. I had to change the extension to, instead of showing progress, download when I clicked on it.

It would also be nice to have more options, or a profile system. For example, I'd like to be able to pick between a download preset that converts to mp3 and stores it in the Music directory, and one that just keeps the video as is and sends it to the Videos directory.

In terms of compatibility and speed though, it's still the best downloader because it's based on yt-dlp.

Awesome. The helper compiles into your ~/.mozilla directory and "just works".

Very convenient plugin, with help of this no need to have a separate script you need to download your file with yt-dlp. Customizable as well
