mis en ligne : il y a 23 joursThank you for the review. If you have any specific suggestions on how we can further improve our services on Linux, or if you happen to be experiencing any issues, feel free to let us know at https://proton.me/support/contact. We always appreciate our community's input. - Noté 3 sur 5par Ce@p2g77L#W, il y a un moisIt does its job. Reliable. Not greedy, the free version is quite good.
However, there are some problems specific to Firefox.
There are regular connection problems.
-It always says there's a problem connecting your account, but your account connects (this isn't a huge problem, it's just confusing for some).
-Sometimes it connects and then disconnects after a split second. You have to wait a bit. (Meh, okay, but it's still a problem)
-Sometimes it doesn't connect automatically (this is a minor issue if you've pinned it to the top right, but it's very annoying)
-Loses the browser permissions?? You have to delete the add-on regularly and re-grant the requested permissions. (This is what's frustrating because the necessity of this can be forgotten.)
At least I experience these problems in both Windows and Cachy.Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a un moisThank you for your feedback. Which Firefox version and Proton VPN extension version do you have installed exactly? Are you receiving any error messages? Do you have any other extensions installed for privacy/security purposes? Are you using any antivirus, firewall, or device optimization software? Contact us at https://protonvpn.com/support/contact with more details so we can investigate the issues further and help you troubleshoot. - Noté 3 sur 5par normalized, il y a 2 moisThe extension itself is super snappy and responsive, but the fact that I have to disable and re-enable it on every PC restart is driving me crazy. Otherwise it refuses to work, either saying that the destination is unreachable or showing that it is connected when it clearly is not.

mis en ligne : il y a 2 moisThat doesn't sound right. Please contact us at https://protonvpn.com/support/contact letting us know which specific browser version and Proton VPN extension version you have installed, what OS your device is running, whether you have the auto-connect option enabled, etc. We'd be happy to investigate the behavior further. - Noté 3 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 19640629 de Firefox, il y a 2 moisWhere do I submit bugs? After every time my laptop hibernates or sleeps, I have to uninstall and reinstall for the connection to work again. Or wait a very long time. I use this extension, because the official Linux package apparently requires systemd and fails.

mis en ligne : il y a 2 moisSorry about that. We're aware of the issue, and our team is working on a fix to resolve it, although we currently don’t have a specific timeframe that we can share. Make sure to keep your browser and the Proton VPN extension up-to-date for the latest improvements. Meanwhile, we’ve documented your report accordingly. - Noté 3 sur 5par Foxie, il y a 2 moisthis is a great product but a recommendation would be to have it 'talk' to the desktop app or at least have an option for it to do it that way if i connect on the desktop app its shown in the extension and vice versa. additional similar to the android app a way to set a different default connection that isnt the fastest in both the extention and linux app would be nice (i believe the windows client has this option)

We'd be more than happy to help. - Noté 3 sur 5par Almost9797, il y a 4 moisThis is an easy-to-set-up VPN to use, with a well-known privacy-oriented company, and it's fast, i.e. the speed drop is not at all noticeable even with the free (non-media) bandwidth.
Unfortunately, if the extension is kept running while the computer goes to sleep, etc., the internet connection for the browser becomes unstable, including not being able to connect to any website. Turning off the extension restores the normal connection, but turning the extension back on still causes problems. At this point, removing and reinstalling the extension is required to get it working again. This is non-ideal. Some other reputable VPN providers may be easier to work with than this.Réponse du développeur

If I close Firefox (Ubuntu snap) with the VPN connected and shut down my computer, at restart when I launch Firefox there's a notifiation indicating that the VPN is connected but the browser cannot reach any website and the extensions seems broken (blank menu on icon click). The only way to retrieve a working Firefox situation is to unistall the extension (if only disabled, Firefox stops working when reenabled).

Sometimes bugs out and requires a full re-install to work again.
From my limited testing it seems to be related to closing the browser while the vpn is connected.Réponse du développeur

On Windows the extension reconnects when the system wakes, but on macOS* the extension gums up the whole browser if the system went to sleep with the VPN connected, necessitating unloading and reloading the extension.

You have to search a list of 900 countries, even though everyone mostly only uses a handful of them.
2. Can not be enabled only for specific *containers* (to specied countries.)
This is also easily possible with other VPNs via the Mozilla Container extension, if you would have a SOCKS5 proxy address. to use with Proton...
Other than that, it works.Réponse du développeur

Disconnecting and reconnecting hangs, and that gets nowhere, but disabling and re-enabling the extension makes everything work. Proton is a great VPN with a lot of extra functionality, but this extension needs a bit more polish.

Aby rozwiązać ten problem należy wyłączyć rozszerzenie i następnie ponownie je włączyć. To bardzo upierdliwe.

- Noté 3 sur 5par g1zm02k, il y a 8 moisDoes the job, but it does it in the most basic and annoying way possible, for example you can't set up a default country (i.e. USA) and you instead have to constantly scroll down and activate your country of choice manually every time you want to use it because it resets the list position back to the beginning any time you click on anything...
This wouldn't be a problem if not for the fact that you can't invert split-tunnelling — I literally only want to use the VPN for one or two sites that I have data on that are blocked in the UK but I can't without it causing problems everywhere else — so I have to continuously Connect/Disconnect via the long-winded means I mentioned above every time I want to use those sites.
Other than that, no issues, but I won't be resubscribing as it's really too much faffing about for something that you should be able to set up as a one-click connect.Réponse du développeur

- Noté 3 sur 5par User, il y a 8 moisHello, glad to see that these reviews are actively monitored and responded to. A major issue that I have had with this extension for ages is that I cannot pin certain locations to the top of the country list, or set a certain location as default as is possible in the mobile app versions of ProtonVPN. It is tedious to have to always search or scroll far down to get to the desired location. Please add this feature.

- Noté 3 sur 5par Namecito, il y a 10 moisIt never worked since I installed it like 3 weeks ago. My case is the same than the one of the previous reviewer. I need it mostly for one website. When trying to enable it I get the same error: "Network error..." Firefox and add-on are updated, 115.26.0es and 1.2.9 respectively. Not using any other proxy or VPN.
Update due to developer's reply: I'll contact you providing info on the questions asked. I would like to add that I just tried the Chrome extension and it works. So it might be something related specifically to Firefox.
Update 2: I solved it. When filling up the support request I decided to give it a last try and discovered that when installing the add-on there's a fugacious message I can't read nor accept that precedes the aforementioned error. So I recorded my screen and play in slow motion and saw there's a message asking for permissions. After googling I went to the add-ons page and selected the extension and then its Permissions tab and enabled them and it worked. Might be kind of a bug that prevents the message to stop.Réponse du développeur

Since last year, the connection has become unstable in China, and there are times when I simply cannot connect, no matter how many attempts I make.
Additionally, the login process requires accessing the proton.me domain, which is not feasible in China. I have to use other tools to bypass the Great Firewall just to log in to ProtonVPN, which is quite absurd. The whole point of using ProtonVPN is to access the internet freely, yet I find myself needing to circumvent restrictions just to use the service.Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a un anWe're sorry to hear that. The reason you're experiencing this issue is due to the very aggressive restrictions in China. Our team is working hard on improving our infrastructure so that all our users are able to connect more easily. We will continue to make more improvements to enhance service availability despite the ongoing blocking attempts.
Meanwhile, you may consider downloading the official Proton VPN app for your specific OS to see if you're able to connect more easily. If you cannot access our website in order to do that, please contact us at https://protonvpn.com/support/contact or https://proton.me/support/contact, or simply send us an email directly at support@protonvpn.zendesk.com so we can assist you further.
