troch HonestReviews, 7 jierren lyn9-11-25: another "recommended" mozilla addon that is so unstable and only works well about 50% of the time. The rest of the time you're gonna wanna take a lot of coffee breaks waiting for this crap addon to load any list over 100 entries. Can't consistently load options properly or even load at all. No easy way to save entries that don't disappear with cache delete. no way to load entries across browsers. another junk
"recommended" addon by mozilla. why do these pretend developers waste our time with their learning how to code?
5-17-25:.stopped working on my brave browser with message to upgrade mybrowser.
4-1-25: has gotten extremely slow to load to the point of being unusable. Cannot handle large lists. system cache clearling results in your losing your tab list.Developer is no longer developing. Offers no way to easily save and edit tab lists. Share button is too close to import/export resulting in shares you did not click on.
5-2-23: Slow as hell. autoway to save tabs to backup file. Sometimes requires restart to get it to display the tabs. Another example of an addon with great potential that needs a developer that can deliver. Need to add auto save to addon.
11-25-22: what can you say about an addon that has such promise but comes up short. Does not work on epic browser-requires constant enable with each use to get the list. VER.Y SLOW in putting up the list on multiple browsers including ffox. makes your links into "SHARES" instead of just saving them like you asked. then you have to delete the share and make a new list again. buggy. inconsistent button implementation. No feature to saving your list, you have to do it manually. No user guide worth mentioning. Just another "recommended" clunky rather junky addon. better that bookmarks, but that's not saying much.
10-2-22 does not load with epic browser, won't work properly on most browsers, slow or unable to load it, requires disabling and re-enabling. Cannot save your links to plain text, cannot backup your links, another script kiddie addon from people who really cannot program.
9-2-22: THE MOST annoying thing about this "recommended" pos is that you constantly have to deactivate it and then reactivate it to get the dam POS to load the entries. A royal PITA to use it. Takes forever to load the entries and sometimes autodeletes them even when you set it to lock them. Like most of the "recommended" addons here, just goest to show how meaningless Mozilla's "recommendations" are. Lacks proper instruction and notice on how to adjust it's settings. Why can't "developers" write programs that JUST WORK???
8-1-22: The developers of this app are either lazy or not very competent. They hardly ever fix bugs, like your needing to deactivate and reactivate one tab to get it to show the saved tabs. No way to autosave your tab page. cannot set tabs to autolock so you have to do it manually each time. Another "recommended" addon that never quite works well.
6-25-22: Buggy. Won't load in many cases you have to disable and reenable it to get it to load and it's SLOW in loading. Should be able to "LOCK" site urls with a universal setting, now you have to do it individually. Slow to load, slow to work, the keyword is SLOWWWWW. Probably spyware, aren't they all? Save your urls manually has no way to do that from withing program. If the program loses them you are uked.
12-11-21 updates: auto opens second window without user input. cannot connect to tor as a result. Lost many tabs saved for no apparent reason. recommend you manually backup any important tabs. Have to disable it frequently to use tor or to prevent problems with it opening a second browser window w/out input. Needs work.

I used to exclusively use this but i just cant rely on it whatsoever now
Edit for you guys: If it is firefox doing this, ive gotten no warning or refresh firefox indicators at all and i have auto updates off so im not sure wth is going on here, will be changing my 2 stars to 5 because of this information because it really is the most useful tab storage add on with easy as heck wyas to mass save tabsAntwurd ûntwikkeler
4 dagen lyn pleatstHi, it's definitely not a bug in OneTab that causes itself to be wiped.
OneTab storage is handled by Firefox, and is stored in Firefox's internal database format. For some reason, Firefox has wiped this storage area. Do you remember recently being asked if you want to "Refresh Firefox"? This is a prompt shown to you when you upgrade to a new Firefox version (there is a new Firefox version released every month). This feature, confusingly, wipes clean all add-on storage including OneTab's storage. You might have a folder called "Old Firefox Data" in your desktop folder, which could contain a copy if you used this Refresh feature without realizing.
The other possibility is if you had a browser or PC crash, which caused a disk corruption in the Firefox internal storage areas. Firefox would then wipe clean the affected storage area.
"Privacy cleaner" and "Delete unnecessary files" types of software can also delete OneTab data. - Wurdearring: 2 fan 5troch ReyMcSriff, 4 dagen lynLove Onetab, but not a fan of the most recent update. Not sure why they changed it to this forced center-aligned layout with no ability to change it to something like previous versions, but it makes for a ton of wasted space on either side on my 1440p monitor. I also have the bug with Onetab auto-pinning its own tab every time it opens but they've mentioned they'll fix that soon, at least. Reverted to an older version for now.

4 dagen lyn pleatstHi, thanks for the feedback. We'll be releasing a fix soon that will make OneTab remember if you un-pin it. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch mez landor, 4 dagen lyn
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch JBJo, 4 dagen lyn1. If any application (including browser addons) does not have an OFFLINE import-export-backup function, it has no value to me, does not follow good practices and is poorly designed.
2. Cloud sync may be OPTIONAL for users who clearly need it.
Full import-export (containing complete data to restore the previous state, folders, groups, stars, pins, tasks, etc.) locally to the file is the foundation.
Cloud here, cloud there, some clouds everywhere, but a large group of users do not use clouds for everything (many use self-hosted) and must have access to file backup.
3. Currently, it is not possible to return to v1 as a workaround -> v2 should not be released because it is incomplete.
4. Do not install v2 if you plan to reinstall the OS soon, because you will lose the ability to export your OneTab bookmarks!
I was going to install a new OS in the coming days and now I can't transfer my bookmarks.
Maybe need to look for another addon?
PS: The current look and new features are great, but the lack of FULL file export-import is a bummer... - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 19816610, 5 dagen lynNewest update wiped years of accumulated tabs. The developer has taken no responsibility. Changed the way they save tabs, don't test it, and wipe user's existing tabs without making a backup first?
DO NOT TRUST these developers.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
4 dagen lyn pleatstHi, we did thoroughly test it, and we do ensure there is a backup in the old storage area before migrating it to the new storage area. Please contact us at one-tab.com/feedback and we may be able to help. For most people, everything should be automatic. - Wurdearring: 4 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 14938337, 5 dagen lyn

5 dagen lyn pleatstHi, unfortunately Tor browser prevents all extensions (including OneTab) from using indexeddb for storage, which breaks the new OneTab. There is nothing we can do to get Tor to allow it. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1893821 - Wurdearring: 3 fan 5troch axew, 5 dagen lynPretty good but the update now forcibly creates a pinned tab and I cannot stand them. Let OneTab open in a regular tab.

5 dagen lyn pleatstHi, this is a bug in the latest version. It will fixed in the April update, so that OneTab will remember if you un-pin it once. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch Aria, 6 dagen lynAmazing new features added recently that made an already good plugin even better. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch Droolio, 7 dagen lynI was very wary when seeing this v2 update (in the old version I had to be careful to avoid 'Send all tabs... to OneTab', because it basically nuked everything without saving heh)... but I made a third party backup of my Firefox profile (as we all should! *hint hint*) and gave it a spin...
Really pleasantly surprised at how good the extra features are. The filtering options, much needed search, the trash - this whole update has expanded its use case. For me, it's gonna be a bit overwhelming to sort through 24k+ tabs, but at least I now have some tools to help whittle that down and have some degree of organisation.
My only slight gripe so far is the 3 panel UI, it's a bit unnecessary IMO - the Quick list and Tasks can easily share the left panel. I hope the dev takes in all the feedback and also looks into reports of data-loss for some people, coz that's obviously concerning. (Make good third-party backups, people!)Antwurd ûntwikkeler
7 dagen lyn pleatstThanks for the feedback - please also note that there is a new "Show the OneTab action popup" option in the Options page, which shows a popup window when you click the OneTab icon instead of immediately sending all tabs in the current window to OneTab. It's possible in the future we could make the side panels more configurable, like an IDE. If you have any other feature thoughts, please let us know at one-tab.com/feedback - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Garvit Jain, 8 dagen lynClosed multiple windows without warning immediately after installing. 7 dagen lyn pleatstHi, we've not heard of this issue happening to anyone else - OneTab is designed to only close a browser window if you click the OneTab icon to send the open tabs to OneTab.
Even if a window does get accidentally closed, you should be able to use the History menu to reopen the recently closed tabs. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch D53, 8 dagen lynLost all stored tabs over one update.

The updated version DID NOT EVEN WORK it tried to show something but could only give me the start of a menu with flashing dots at the left as if it was doing something. Thank God there are other options for this functionality because I'm never going to trust this developer with my data ever again AND YOU SHOULDN'T TRUST THEM EITHER.

7 dagen lyn pleatstHi, we've discovered that if you use the Tor browser (based on Firefox), or are using the regular Firefox but have configured a custom history policy to never retain any browsing data ever, it will prevent any extension including OneTab from creating an "indexeddb" database to store tabs for you. Please see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1893821 - Wurdearring: 2 fan 5troch Dapper Shark, 8 dagen lynLargely I'm not that bothered by the update, I agree with folks that center align is jarring and I would like to go back to left align but alas, what does bother me though, is whenever I'm in the "one tab" tab, my scrollbar becomes so tiny that its unusable, the only option is to adjust the window which is not what I'm after.
give me a fix or fix it and I'll change the review.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
7 dagen lyn pleatstHi, I think you're referring to OneTab using narrow scrollbars instead of the regular wide scrollbars. We'll add an option for this. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch thedahlingdarling, 8 dagen lynI'm not one to embrace change, especially UI changes, and I don't particularly care for the center aligned look of the new update BUT - while i've been using this add on for years and its always been serviceable and worked well the latest changes have been a game changer for functionality. The ability to now easily click and drag the links around, the stream lined ability to create folders - it all works really well. I don't even know if these are new features or ones I just never figured out how to access but it's all so intuitive now and has really saved me a headache when its time to reorganize my links. This add on is a life saver for me and I'm pleased to see its gotten better and not worse in an ever increasingly enshitified internet. Thanks.

- Wurdearring: 3 fan 5troch vexx1313, 9 dagen lynI've used OneTab for years and this update is what made me make an account on here just to leave this review. I love this extension but the new look is absolutely terrible. There was no need to change what was perfectly good, just because it didn't fit with the current design trends. If you're like me and dislike it, just export your tabs, remove the extension, download the previous one, and turn off updates.
