I used to exclusively use this but i just cant rely on it whatsoever now
Edit for you guys: If it is firefox doing this, ive gotten no warning or refresh firefox indicators at all and i have auto updates off so im not sure wth is going on here, will be changing my 2 stars to 5 because of this information because it really is the most useful tab storage add on with easy as heck wyas to mass save tabsAntwurd ûntwikkeler
3 dagen lyn pleatstHi, it's definitely not a bug in OneTab that causes itself to be wiped.
OneTab storage is handled by Firefox, and is stored in Firefox's internal database format. For some reason, Firefox has wiped this storage area. Do you remember recently being asked if you want to "Refresh Firefox"? This is a prompt shown to you when you upgrade to a new Firefox version (there is a new Firefox version released every month). This feature, confusingly, wipes clean all add-on storage including OneTab's storage. You might have a folder called "Old Firefox Data" in your desktop folder, which could contain a copy if you used this Refresh feature without realizing.
The other possibility is if you had a browser or PC crash, which caused a disk corruption in the Firefox internal storage areas. Firefox would then wipe clean the affected storage area.
"Privacy cleaner" and "Delete unnecessary files" types of software can also delete OneTab data. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch mez landor, 4 dagen lyn

- Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch Droolio, 7 dagen lynI was very wary when seeing this v2 update (in the old version I had to be careful to avoid 'Send all tabs... to OneTab', because it basically nuked everything without saving heh)... but I made a third party backup of my Firefox profile (as we all should! *hint hint*) and gave it a spin...
Really pleasantly surprised at how good the extra features are. The filtering options, much needed search, the trash - this whole update has expanded its use case. For me, it's gonna be a bit overwhelming to sort through 24k+ tabs, but at least I now have some tools to help whittle that down and have some degree of organisation.
My only slight gripe so far is the 3 panel UI, it's a bit unnecessary IMO - the Quick list and Tasks can easily share the left panel. I hope the dev takes in all the feedback and also looks into reports of data-loss for some people, coz that's obviously concerning. (Make good third-party backups, people!)Antwurd ûntwikkeler
7 dagen lyn pleatstThanks for the feedback - please also note that there is a new "Show the OneTab action popup" option in the Options page, which shows a popup window when you click the OneTab icon instead of immediately sending all tabs in the current window to OneTab. It's possible in the future we could make the side panels more configurable, like an IDE. The ability to now easily click and drag the links around, the stream lined ability to create folders - it all works really well. I don't even know if these are new features or ones I just never figured out how to access but it's all so intuitive now and has really saved me a headache when its time to reorganize my links. This add on is a life saver for me and I'm pleased to see its gotten better and not worse in an ever increasingly enshitified internet. Thanks.

- Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch Aich, 9 dagen lynI have loved OneTab for years. It has made my life infinitely easier.
I am also someone who hates change. I was quite upset a while back when an update made it so I couldn't see how many tabs were saved in a section. A tiny thing! And that's the kind of change I still don't like.
So I want to be incredibly clear that I LOVE the new update. Yes it's centre-aligned which is a little odd. Yes you still can't see the number at the top of each section.
BUT.
- You can move sections of tabs around
- You can set sections as projects/tasks
- You can ADD NOTES to a section when you add a title
- In the sidebar it now once again includes how many tabs are in a section
- SEARCH FUNCTION
This is all of the changes I didn't realise I needed or wanted (... well. Except for the moving sections around) but which all suit how I use OneTab - ways to sort tabs I want to go over and check in my own time. It also seems to have expanded the options to clarify some things and add new options with how tabs get opened? Without changing my old presets?
This is fantastic. OneTab Team? I want to be clear: I ADORE you for this. As someone who hates change, this is every change I have actually wanted from something I use.
Given I use tumblr and the hell updates we get there, this was a delightful change of pace. Thank you so much.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
