- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch AG, ien moanne lynIf my hard drive space drops below 10gb all my OneTab data wipes. It's happened twice.
There will not be a third attempt.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
ien moanne lyn pleatstHi, we've checked the Firefox source code, and Firefox will not evict any OneTab data due to low disk space.
The problem is probably that you are running some kind of privacy cleaner or system cleaner software which is trying to evict Firefox data, and is wiping extension data (including OneTab) at the same time. 'BleachBit' and 'Advanced SystemCare' are known to do this. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 19045605, ien moanne lynFirefox Donot even try! Once it is activated there is noway to get back to your original tab layout unless you have backed up Firefox! I was able to get it back because I also using Simple Tag Groups and was able to restore over 1600 tabs using the Simple Tab Groups backup/restore.

ien moanne lyn pleatstHi, you can do what you're describing.
By default, if you use Firefox tab groups, then each tab group will be stored separately, and can be restored separately.
If you want to store a whole window full of tab groups, and have the entire window restore at once with all of the tab groups inside, then you can do this by going to OneTab Options and choosing the "Send the current window to OneTab, including all tabs and tab groups" option. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Juniper Eckstein, ien moanne lynOverall, feels pretty clunky and hard to use.
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch mtntech, 2 moannen lynHundreds of tabs up and disappeared. This is happening to a lot of users. OneTab Team says that is it Firefox doing it. Either way, this app is not compatible with Firefox. Do not use if you value your time and effort.

2 moannen lyn pleatstI'm sorry this happened. The problem isn't Firefox, it's software such as privacy cleaners, or disk corruptions, that can corrupt Firefox's data stores.
The solution is to either ensure that your regular backup software (that keeps your files safe) also backs up your Firefox profile folder, or to use our upcoming encrypted cloud sync and backup feature. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Koiebe, 2 moannen lynNB! DO NOT USE THIS GARBAGE OF an addon. Yesterday received some update and today months of work is gone forever - no DB backup no nothing! It is not coded well at all!
I DID not refreshed my Firefox, neither did some kind of cleaning of the browser or Windows whatsoever.
What a f%#king shame !!!
I do not see any reason why is recommended app by Firefox, when I read that clearly I'm not the only one affected.
And please developers, don't say it is Firefox fault. It is not the only add-on we use. You can read firefox code, and fix your own!Antwurd ûntwikkeler
2 moannen lyn pleatstHi, I'm sorry you lost your tabs.
What happened was not a bug in OneTab. Firefox profiles can become corrupted, and then there is nothing we can do on our end.
The solution is to either ensure that your regular backup software (that keeps your files safe) also backs up your Firefox profile folder, or to use our upcoming encrypted cloud sync and backup feature. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch DD, 3 moannen lynSuddenly all my tabs were gone. Poof, deleted from the list.

3 moannen lyn pleatstHi, I'm sorry this happened. It's definitely not a bug in our code, though. Something is wiping Firefox's internal storage - it's pretty much impossible for us to accidentally write code that would suddenly just wipe the entire contents of the storage and then delete the entire OneTab database after that.
Some "privacy cleaner" software will wipe Firefox data, or it could have been a crash causing a disk write error that corrupted the storage areas. Firefox's "Refresh" feature also wipes clean the extension storage. Being low on disk space when the browser is trying to write to its databases can also cause corruption. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 15161687, 3 moannen lynStill having catastrophic data loss every few months. Been this way for years. Garbage

We are working on cloud sync to ensure you can keep the data safe. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Bob, 3 moannen lynAll saved tabs deleted after update. More than slightly upset.

3 moannen lyn pleatstHi, do you remember recently being asked if you want to "Refresh Firefox"? This is a prompt shown to you when you upgrade to a new Firefox version (there is a new Firefox version released every month). This feature, confusingly, wipes clean all add-on storage including OneTab's storage. If Firefox ever gets a disk corruption, that could also cause data loss.
I'm very sorry this happened to you. We're working on cloud sync so in the future this can't happen. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 19904524, 4 moannen lyn

Antwurd ûntwikkeler
5 moannen lyn pleatstHi, the Zen browser's extension API does not have full compatibility with Firefox extensions unfortunately. Many extensions won't work with it. We hope they will improve compatibility with Firefox. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 19848340, 5 moannen lynDeleted all my tabs when firefox updated, thousands of tabs. When I reached out to support they gave me info for chrome.
RE: Developer response
I do not have "system cleaner" or "privacy cleaner" software installed. This is quite frankly a cop out. Your product sucks and you know it.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
5 moannen lyn pleatstHi, I'm sorry you lost your tabs. Please note that if Firefox gets corrupted, or if you have "system cleaner" or "privacy cleaner" software installed, this can wipe clean data for all browser extensions including OneTab. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch JBJo, 5 moannen lyn1. If any application (including browser addons) does not have an OFFLINE import-export-backup function, it has no value to me, does not follow good practices and is poorly designed.
2. Cloud sync may be OPTIONAL for users who clearly need it.
Full import-export (containing complete data to restore the previous state, folders, groups, stars, pins, tasks, etc.) locally to the file is the foundation.
Cloud here, cloud there, some clouds everywhere, but a large group of users do not use clouds for everything (many use self-hosted) and must have access to file backup.
3. Currently, it is not possible to return to v1 as a workaround -> v2 should not be released because it is incomplete.
4. Do not install v2 if you plan to reinstall the OS soon, because you will lose the ability to export your OneTab bookmarks!
I was going to install a new OS in the coming days and now I can't transfer my bookmarks.
Maybe need to look for another addon?
PS: The current look and new features are great, but the lack of FULL file export-import is a bummer... - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 19816610, 5 moannen lynNewest update wiped years of accumulated tabs. The developer has taken no responsibility. Changed the way they save tabs, don't test it, and wipe user's existing tabs without making a backup first?
DO NOT TRUST these developers.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
5 moannen lyn pleatstHi, we did thoroughly test it, and we do ensure there is a backup in the old storage area before migrating it to the new storage area. Please contact us at one-tab.com/feedback and we may be able to help. For most people, everything should be automatic. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Garvit Jain, 5 moannen lynClosed multiple windows without warning immediately after installing. DO NOT INSTALL.
Antwurd ûntwikkeler
5 moannen lyn pleatstHi, we've not heard of this issue happening to anyone else - OneTab is designed to only close a browser window if you click the OneTab icon to send the open tabs to OneTab.
Even if a window does get accidentally closed, you should be able to use the History menu to reopen the recently closed tabs. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch D53, 5 moannen lynLost all stored tabs over one update.

5 moannen lyn pleatstHi, sorry this happened to you. For some reason, Firefox has wiped OneTab's storage area. Do you remember recently being asked if you want to "Refresh Firefox"? This is a prompt shown to you when you upgrade to a new Firefox version (there is a new Firefox version released every month). This feature, confusingly, wipes clean all add-on storage including OneTab's storage. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 19810996, 5 moannen lynDown from five star because without warning, this stupid developer destroyed YEARS of accumulated saved tabs. The updated version DID NOT EVEN WORK it tried to show something but could only give me the start of a menu with flashing dots at the left as if it was doing something. Thank God there are other options for this functionality because I'm never going to trust this developer with my data ever again AND YOU SHOULDN'T TRUST THEM EITHER.
Antwurd ûntwikkeler
5 moannen lyn pleatstHi, we've discovered that if you use the Tor browser (based on Firefox), or are using the regular Firefox but have configured a custom history policy to never retain any browsing data ever, it will prevent any extension including OneTab from creating an "indexeddb" database to store tabs for you. Please see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1893821 - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch tim, 6 moannen lynNew update deleted ALL my tabs, with no warning. Insanity. How could you forget to write a migration script that imports the HTML to the new format!?
Antwurd ûntwikkeler
6 moannen lyn pleatstHi, there is definitely a migration script, so there must be something else that went wrong. OneTab storage is handled by Firefox, and is stored in Firefox's internal databases. For some reason, Firefox has wiped this storage area. Do you remember recently being asked if you want to "Refresh Firefox"? This is a prompt shown to you when you upgrade to a new Firefox version (there is a new Firefox version released every month). The other possibility is if you had a browser or PC crash, which caused a disk corruption in the Firefox internal storage areas. Firefox would then wipe clean the affected storage area. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 18747101, 6 moannen lynwent from a 5-star extension to a 1-star (I'd give it minus 5 if I could) simple cause of the sh***y update that center-alligned everything without an option to revert it back to left allignment
STOP MESSING WITH HOW I WANT THINGS TO LOOK AND FEEL!!!
The new "ui update" is horrid, wastes so much "screen estate", and suffers from the same typical garbage "fluffy rounded cloudy corners and seperating things with 5 billion wasted pixel-space between each section" -.-
Exported tabs, uninstalled, reverted back to old version and disabled updates... - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 13071229, 7 moannen lynI love it on Windows, but on Android I have over 100 tabs open and it only offers to save one tab. Which makes it kind of useless.
Antwurd ûntwikkeler
7 moannen lyn pleatstUnfortunately, the Android Firefox does not report any tabs to OneTab which are "unloaded". This means that although we tried to make it work on Firefox Android, it's simply impossible until the Firefox Android API reports all tabs to extensions. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch AmooEbrahim, 7 moannen lyn

- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Joe M, 7 moannen lyndo NOT use this extension. I have a 32core Threadripper with 128G RAM and it still crashed trying to restore 960 tabs. Thankfully I already made a backup. Task Manager never showed FF using more than 32G of RAM, so it is the extension and not Windows running out of memory
