this add-on is the most useful thing i've installed in awhile. works entirely as advertised. i don't want to put down other extensions that didn't work before finding this one, but i went through quite a few. i hope this add-on gets more visibility. seriously though, i hope this isn't malware or something.

    Needs channel whitelist since this is a thing: "Note: Language detection is not 100% reliable for short phrases or single words, so some messages may still be translated." So it keeps translating english comments into english on channels I dont need this on.

    Otherwise good.

    A channel whitelist is outside the scope of Chatslator, as the extension focuses strictly on message translation rather than channel management.

    The disclaimer you mentioned highlights a limitation with automatic language detection. When text is extremely short, Google's API can't always identify the language with 100% accuracy, leading to occasional unexpected translations.

    Very usefull for moderators!

    p.s. Can we add option to show what language was it translated from?

    Update: This has now been added! (v1.6.0)

    You can enable "Show the detected language on hover" in Settings. When enabled, hovering over a translated message will show the language it was translated from.

    Works great! To get it working automatically & for full screen mode (thanks dev!):
    Right-click the addon's icon > [X] Always Allow on youtube.com > refresh page.
    Doesn't work on sites like Holodex.

    Thanks for the feedback! Just to clarify, we never stated in the description that Holodex is officially supported, so compatibility there is not guaranteed.

    Regarding the TL behavior, I have not been able to reproduce the bug you are describing on my end. Please contact me (zeerohpz@gmail.com) directly with more details or steps to reproduce it so I can investigate further and see what might be causing it.

    Just saw that you put out a new version of your extension. Works just as well as the previous Youtube-only version. I haven't tried it on twitch or kick, so I can't comment on those ones.

    Used it to watch a Livestream about a game Koreans were making, worked pretty good, went into settings and replaced original text with the translation as there's too many words on a quick livestream chat.

    Just wanted to let you know that I’ve recently added support for translating YouTube Super Chats and Membership messages in the latest update (1.0.2). 🎉

    About the crash issue, I’ve spent several hours testing it on multiple devices but haven’t been able to reproduce the problem. It’s possible that another browser extension might be interfering with mine and causing the issue. You could try disabling other extensions one by one to see if that helps.
