I completely trust anything Proton, whether email, cloud, or VPN. And you can get the free version for all of the above.

So happy this exists now. I would just like a secure core toggle. It would also be neat if it could detect when I'm already connected via protonvpn-cli, it doesn't seem to be able to at present.

Open source and all that nonsense just as an excuse to get email addresses?

Lures you with free use (See Website with the big Button "Proton Free"), although it is only for payment, which you only find out afterwards when you have already registered your email address.

Very pleased with this extension the only annoyance is a popup comes every 2 minutes to say that the VPN is connected, very annoying when using my browser all day.

Desktop app is handling my whole traffic; FF extension allows me to pick a different VPN server just for my browser traffic. Proton feels like the best on-line privacy services out there. Hopefully that will not change in the future :)

Really worth supporting the organization.

It keeps disconnecting. I have already upgraded to 0.1.7. It happens whenever there is inactivity and you resume browsing. The inactivity triggers the disconnect. If I keep actively browsing it won't disconnect. However, that's not sustainable.

simple, works, and good speed. Would like to see more control over sites, for example, exclude certain sites from vpn traffic (for example banks). Or, integration with multi-account containers so that we can decide which server or no vpn used for different containers. Looking forward to new features.

Great Add-on! The message box "Connected to ..." popup too frequent (not sure the reason as the icon in tool bar always show connected) and stayed too long. Although in the option there shown an option of "Display notification to you" in permissions tab, it is an "Required permissions" and can't be changed. If user can switch it on/off will be great or at least with option to set the the display time (1s?).

Haven't fully tested it for leaks etc. But it looks good, and easy to install. Reliable so far.

Very Good and Very fast but it seems to disconnect randomly without any notification that it does so you dont know its not connected

I regularly notice that the Proton VPN icon is gray, meaning it is no longer connected, even though I was connected just a minute ago. Also sad that it is missing the Kill Switch, pretty important feature for a lot of users.

Nice idea, unfortunately it disconnects continuously from VPN.
UPDATE: the disconnections were fixed in the 0.1.7 release.
