This add-on should be massively boycotted. 20 Euros per month for this shit really? While there are other FREE alternatives? F*** OFF dude.

Like many users on here that have used it in the past and found it a good spell checker, with it now going premium only, I'm now forced to locate a new spell checker

It was an all right extension, I did not have any problems with it whatsoever. Them going into premium only mode sucks though, but I understand. ggs little one

🇬🇧 The add-on was available free of charge until around 07/2026. The operating company is now only making it available in the paid premium version for ‘reasons’. Users can redirect the add-on – whose source code is open source – locally on a server or within the client, provided they are familiar with the necessary configuration. Unfortunately, this means that only a spell check is available, and no grammar check.
Conclusion: A more user-friendly solution could certainly have been found. For many years, this provided valuable support for private users, both as an add-on in the Firefox browser and within the LibreOffice office suite.

Nutzer können das Add-on, dessen Quelltext Open Source ist, lokal auf einem Server oder im Client umleiten, sofern ihnen die erforderliche Konfiguration bekannt ist. Leider ist dann nur eine Rechtschreibprüfung und keine Grammatikprüfung möglich.
Fazit: Es hätte sich sicher eine benutzerfreundlichere Lösung finden lassen. Lange Jahre war dies für private Nutzer eine gute Unterstützung, sowohl als Add-on im Firefox-Browser als auch in der Büro-Suite LibreOffice.

Cette extension me permet de ne pas avoir de fautes dans les mails et les textes que j'écris, et ça m'aide à améliorer mon orthographe.
Un point négatif: depuis quelques jours, les fautes ne sont plus soulignées automatiquement. Je ne trouve pas l'option qui me permettrait de remettre ça en action, ce qui m'ennuie profondément.

Time to leave the ship, because there is also other extensions do the same for free.

I stopped paying for the tool when they went full on "AI" mode. Stayed on the free tier. Now they are closing the free tier because of AI. Company had a good thing going but had to put their foot in their mouth. Too bad, so sad.

Cool, so they ruined the spellchecker by handling it off to AI first, then demanded their userbase's money to keep it running? Turning a good free tool into a bad paid one is one hell of a business venture, hope it becomes a dead one next.
Anyway, looking forward to see this service being overtaken by something it used to be - a simple and free open-source spell checking algorithm.
