posted 24 days agoWe use a combination of our own and rented servers. Some of our servers and networks are fully owned and controlled by us, while others utilize third parties as we don't have facilities in every country. When we rent servers and networks, we only utilize trusted data centers that meet all of our security criteria and are able to provide us with full access to the server itself, and we only use bare-metal servers. All our servers also utilize full-disk encryption so that no third-party can extract data off of them even if they have physical access to the hardware.
That said, DataCamp Limited is one of many providers that we use in order to provision servers in a certain location. Rest assured, these servers are completely under our control, and the same privacy and security principles apply to them as well. In any case, if you wish to connect to servers that are wholly owned and provisioned by us, you can enable the Secure Core feature: https://protonvpn.com/support/secure-core-vpn.
Last but not least, you have no reason to worry about your data when using Proton VPN. We have a strict no-logs policy protected by Swiss law, and we are open-source and undergo regular third-party audits of our services.
