A simple to use VPN, especially for subscribers, but unreliable; the extension consistently disconnects intermittently, requiring disabling and re-enabling the extension several times to re-establish a connection.

Great product but does need some work on its proxy handling ie when visiting a site with stock prices, the price changed and after I refreshed the price had not changed on the display. When I changed end point and refreshed then the site showed the correct new price.

Pretty great for all my uses and never had a problem connecting. Dropping one star because it's missing the favourite feature from the PC app, forcing me to scroll through the entire list of countries to find what I want instead of pinning my favourite to the top.

I'm using this app already a few years (payed version) but the last few month the performance is terrible and a lot of sites are unreachable. If this is not improving soon, I'll unsubscribe me from proton. Also, in the beginning there was a greater choice of servers per country. But now the servers are mostly busy, busy, busy. No good service.
For a free service nice but for a payed service very poor!

After contact with the Proton helpdesk the problems got resolved. Super! Good servide.

Its a great vpn and works great, no ads, nothing bad about it.

But currently i find a problem where if you close the browser with the vpn on after you reopen the browser it will try to connect to vpn immediately but will instead basically remove internet connection to the entire browser, making the extension itself inaccessible as well, only solution is to disable the extension and re-enable

Would be great if it had a "default connection" option and a "Recents" list like on the iOS app. Selecting the preferred country each and every time is a bit of a pain point when it's half-way down the list of countries.

Also, can you make split tunneling work the opposite way? i.e. I only want some websites to go through the VPN.

EDIT: The split tunneling now has include mode and exclude mode! Woop woop!

Works as you'd expect, and the UI is very responsive, albeit bare-bones feature wise. An option to pin or favorite specific countries to have them show up at the top of the list, or profiles, would be nice (but that's what the standalone app is for I suppose).

Needs login to use, but the site account.proton.me was blocked by GFW so not able to login.

Powerful VPN addon that costs a pretty penny. Can be blocked by ISPs however so you won't be able to use it in all situations. Would be nice if it had a way to attempt to connect to unblocked server IPs and report blocked attempts so Proton can continue to provide a great service.

BUT before you close the browser you need to disconnect from the VPN bc if not you might get stuck in a limbo state but it is fixable

Having an issue with the split tunnelling not working. When trying to watch a Youtube video it will endlessly buffer if connected to certain counties, even though I have it and all subdomains excluded from the VPN connection. The video will load when connected to my home country, so something about the subdomain exclusion isn't working as intended.

Einziger Wermutstropfen ist ein drastischer Rückgang der Download-/Upload-Geschwindigkeit bei manchen Cloud-Anwendungen, speziell beim Übertragen von Daten im GB-Bereich. Dieses Problem lässt sich zwar lösen, indem man das VPN kurzzeitig deaktiviert – was allerdings nicht Sinn der Sache sein sollte.

Für meinen persönlichen Anwendungsfall ist dies vertretbar, da ich hauptsächlich meine eigenen Cloud-Lösungen nutze.

ProtonVPN runs flawlessly for me, without any interruptions or errors. General usage is very reliable.

The only drawback is a drastic drop in download/upload speed with some cloud applications, especially when transferring data in the GB range. While this problem can be solved by briefly disabling the VPN – this shouldn't be the goal of the product.

For my personal use case, this is acceptable, as I mainly use my own cloud solutions.
