- Wurdearring: 3 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 19655231, 3 moannen lyn1º I used Proton VPN but the free version. Then I stopped using it when I realized that public DNS was appearing. A disappointment of Proton VPN, the company must be managed by other people for other purposes.
2º If they do a dns leak test, the company Datacamp Limited appears. An England company rarely has a proton on it. It generates certain doubts in me. No wonder they are all millionaires in England.
3º I think that the authorities collaborate. changed their usage policy. What appears on the page is not what they say. "I can say one thing and do something else" generates doubt in me.
4º How can I know that the company Datacamp Limited does not leak everything. The company is registered in Switzerland but they hire an England company.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
3 moannen lyn pleatstWe use a combination of our own and rented servers. Some of our servers and networks are fully owned and controlled by us, while others utilize third parties as we don't have facilities in every country. When we rent servers and networks, we only utilize trusted data centers that meet all of our security criteria and are able to provide us with full access to the server itself, and we only use bare-metal servers. All our servers also utilize full-disk encryption so that no third-party can extract data off of them even if they have physical access to the hardware.
That said, DataCamp Limited is one of many providers that we use in order to provision servers in a certain location. Rest assured, these servers are completely under our control, and the same privacy and security principles apply to them as well. In any case, if you wish to connect to servers that are wholly owned and provisioned by us, you can enable the Secure Core feature: https://protonvpn.com/support/secure-core-vpn.
Last but not least, you have no reason to worry about your data when using Proton VPN. We have a strict no-logs policy protected by Swiss law, and we are open-source and undergo regular third-party audits of our services. You can learn more at https://protonvpn.com/blog/is-protonvpn-trustworthy. Our privacy policy can also be found at https://protonvpn.com/privacy-policy. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch Petr Strnad, 3 moannen lyn
- Wurdearring: 3 fan 5troch ash, 3 moannen lynHandy extension for tunneling your web browsing through a VPN. On Windows the extension reconnects when the system wakes, but on macOS* the extension gums up the whole browser if the system went to sleep with the VPN connected, necessitating unloading and reloading the extension.

Which exact version of Firefox and the Proton VPN extension do you have installed? What type of internet connection are you using? Contact us by clicking on Help in the Proton VPN extension, then selecting 'Contact us' so we can help. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 17112153, 3 moannen lynRandomly connecting to a server? I get that it's free but at least let the users choose which countries they want to connect to among the limited numbers.

3 moannen lyn pleatstThe default Connect option will connect you to the fastest available server for you. This leads to better load balancing and higher speed, which is a priority for free users. That said, you still have the option to switch to another randomly allocated server by disconnecting and reconnecting, or you can upgrade to connect to a specific server in a country of your choice. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 18745471, 3 moannen lyn

- Wurdearring: 2 fan 5troch idontknow651, 3 moannen lynI think a VPN extension only really needs ONE feature: quick-connect to a previously favorited country.
It is ridiculous that ProtonVPN does not have this.
I would take ANYTHING:
- A way to pin/favorite countries or servers
- A second button next to Connect that
- An option in the settings for what happens when I left click the extension
- create a hotkey to auto-connect to my favorites
I've only ever EVER used it to connect to a different country. But if I don't manually choose it in the list, then it will choose MINE. Why?! It's basically useless.
And I specifically only ever use Japan 99% of the time, and the US in the remaining 1%.
(I suspect a great majority of people use it similarly. Mostly one country.)
Both of which—because the list is in alphabetic order—I literally cannot even simply scroll down to!
Japan takes about 4 wheel turns, and the US takes 8.
So, evidently, I instead search for them. Just typing J or U is enough.
And THANKFULLY the search input is automatically focused. This is why the app gets 2 stars, not 1.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
3 moannen lyn pleatstSorry to hear that. The default Connect option will connect you to the fastest available server for you, which is often one that's closer to your actual location. That said, although the option to favorite servers or countries is not available at the moment, we've added your vote to the existing feature request so the team can prioritize it accordingly. You can follow our blog and our direct channels for any news and updates. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 19649193, 3 moannen lyn
- Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch CaptainMiragee, 3 moannen lynproton needs no introduction, i would say its one of the best vpn extentions and an app too right next to windscribe, basically the only two that have a free plan but boy is the paid plan so much better
- Wurdearring: 3 fan 5troch Davide, 3 moannen lyn1. Can not specify favorite countries. You have to search a list of 900 countries, even though everyone mostly only uses a handful of them.
2. Can not be enabled only for specific *containers* (to specied countries.)
This is also easily possible with other VPNs via the Mozilla Container extension, if you would have a SOCKS5 proxy address. to use with Proton...
Other than that, it works.Antwurd ûntwikkeler

- Wurdearring: 2 fan 5troch Snoozer, 3 moannen lynGreat when it works. I constantly lose connection when trying to stream content on my browser. When I disconnect from the extension I have no connection issues. I have two server locations close to me and I try to switch when my connection slows down. But, this doesn't seem to help.

3 moannen lyn pleatstSorry to hear that. Could you let us know which specific streaming services you're having trouble with? We have a support article where you can find all the streaming services that are officially supported at the moment (https://protonvpn.com/support/streaming-guide). Contact us with more details by clicking on Help in the Proton VPN extension, then selecting 'Contact us' so we can help. - Wurdearring: 3 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 14184547, 3 moannen lynThis works well on desktop Firefox, but not mobile (I tried force enabling it, but it just gives permission errors so far — maybe I'll figure out it).

3 moannen lyn pleatstThank you for your review. The browser extension is currently not officially supported on Firefox for mobile devices, however, we've passed on your feedback to the team for future consideration. In the meantime, you can download the native Proton VPN app for your platform at https://protonvpn.com/download. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 14981827, 4 moannen lyn
- Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch IsNotAYahoo, 4 moannen lynGreat VPN browser app, works out of the box on Mint Linux and Windows 11. Experience isn't as polished on Linux (yet), but updates are consistent and nothing breaks so I am happy. I could wish for finer exit server details presented in the web app, but if I am looking for something specific I can reference that information through the desktop app for now. I am looking forward to Proton's continuing development and success.

- Wurdearring: 3 fan 5troch srickficture, 4 moannen lynThe Proton VPN extension is almost perfect, but on Firefox Linux, this thing just won't reconnect after coming back from sleep! Disconnecting and reconnecting hangs, and that gets nowhere, but disabling and re-enabling the extension makes everything work. Proton is a great VPN with a lot of extra functionality, but this extension needs a bit more polish.

- Wurdearring: 4 fan 5troch kire, 4 moannen lynIt would be nice if there was a way to pin certain countries/location to the top of the list, or if the extension remembered the last few countries you used.
Otherwise, great extension.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
